A small, symmetrical map for 2v2 or 1v1. Can be used for Team Slayer, Free For All, 2v2v2v2 (multi-team), Capture the Flag or King of the Hill. Chasm_Spawns - Each team will spawn on the upper ramps facing the other team across the map. There are two gravity lifts on either side of the initial spawn and a DMR right down in front as well as a health pack. Chasm_Sides - The sides are the only way you can get to the middle and to the other teams spawn area. Chasm_Middle - The middle is just a platform holding a Concussion Rifle over a large pit, so be careful not to fall to your death! The jump can be made without sprint although you cannot jump from red's side to blue's side and vice verse with sprint. Weapons: 2x Assault Rifle 2x DMR 2x Plasma Pistol 2x Magnum 4x Frag Grenade 2x Needle Rifle 1x Concussion Rifle (1 spare clip) There is also 2 health packs. Download Chasm
I am intrigued. This has some interesting gameplay elements which will hopefully help it stand out from the crowd. Also, the map seems to differentiate itself visually which really is a must these days. I'd like to play this some time.
Updated the map! Removed Sniper Rifles because they seemed to control the game, moved DMR to Sniper location and put Needle Rifles in it's place, also moved plasma pistol and decreased it's spawn rate and increased Rocket's spawn rate.
While the name of the map is somewhat...Bland and not very creative, the map itself is quite the opposite. I am interested in checking this out sometime. Also, if the sniper is dominating the map, you could always lower the clip size on it?
@Eightball, thanks for giving feedback, yeah I know the name is lame, i'm just not good at naming maps. If you have any suggestions please let me know! The sniper only had one additional clip in it though there were two on the map. The problem was for whatever reason, the sniper would re-spawn even if you were holding it regardless if it had ammo or not, is there any way to fix that?
Just lay it on the ground on normal. It was probably drop-spawning (the details i'm still sketchy on), meaning the the weapon will always spawn at whatever time you have it set to. I think that this happens when you place a weapon one unit above a surface, and then it drops, hence Drop-spawning. Just lay it down normally to stop this from happening (and be sure yor weapons spawn times aren't all set at 30 seconds!).
Looks interesting. Chasm doesnt sound that bad of a name. Wont the rocket launcher be sorta unfair though?
That's not the issue, it was already set to normal and on a flat surface, and most of the weapons have different spawn times, thanks though! Not if it only has two shots in it, but i'm not a Rocket Launcher fan. I've actually replaced it with a concussion rifle with 1 extra clip and that seems to be alright.
This looks awesome! Make sure you test this and perfect, Id hate to see a great design go to waste. As for the name: Void, Fissure, Crevasse, Rift, Schism?
This looks really iteresting, I can't really say much from what I can see other than it looks great so I'll probably give it a download and give feed back then.
