It's RUMORED, so who the hell knows what this is. Could be a forge environment, could be campaign space, could be just the backdrop for a multiplayer map... could be any-friggin-thing. Could be literally nothing except a cool picture.
*Presses finger into ear* My sources are telling me that it could be the place that dead UNSC vehicles go when they despawn. The fabled Elephant Graveyard...
I for one like the aesthetics of this * environment* . Bring back a splash of color reach sorely lacked. Also, it seams like the back drop and the hills will be cut, but the 2 bridge dynamic looks cool
I dunno. I think it's a forge environment. I can't possibly imagine this as a multiplayer map and it might be their way of teasing the next forge environment before PAX Prime. Maybe it'll come with rest of the cool new forge features.
It is just concept art, but I have to say, previous Halo games had concept art that looks quite a lot like the finished product... Powerhouse, Sword Base... That looks like a forging space to me. Although I don't see why two of the three palettes would be human, and that space is obviously not of Forerunner or Covie origin. I like Halo concept art. My dream job is to be a concept artist. That would be friggin cool.
I could see that being a covey themed forge canvas. Kinda reminds me of some of the covey-held areas in Halo CE's campaign. Obviously the 'covey' aspect would have to come from the object palette - but it's not like you can tell from the concept art that FW was going to turn into a mound of grey blocks.
if anything, its gotta be UNSC. forge world was on a forerunner structure, so it had forerunner objects. theres definitely an orbital elevator in the background of that concept art, so it has to be a UNSC colony or something. theyre not just gonna make a covie palette to go with human scenery.
Oh - didn't notice the structures. I watched it embedded the first time. Well isn't the canvas they already demo'd forerunner? It has the same palette as FW.
So this is random and a shot in the dark, but I pre-ordered from Gamestop because it was the most viable option for me, and I absolutely despise camo-pattern. I am totally willing to swap skin codes for literally any other skin.
It's a shame there's no way to verify that codes are good without using them. An exchange page would be nice for people that want a skin they can't get their hands on. I haven't preordered yet because I'm trying to find out if anybody but Gamestop is doing a midnight launch here. Looks like I'll either have to take the garb skin and play right away, or pic a nicer one and wait until the next evening... (So I'm taking the crap skin, obviously - it just sucks) I hope skins are a dime a dozen three months after launch. Not pre-order skins - just random skins from every different website. Rewards for making accounts or something. Then I wouldn't care at all. I could just find some random Old Spice skin or something like I did for my dashboard. Some of the advertising themes they give away on xbox are actually pretty sweet looking.
I'm good for it. Any number of the staff can vouch for me that I'm an honest dude. Anyways, back on discussion. I have settled down with the idea of the specializations. I'm not as worried about it now, and I think it might open up some more interesting ways for me to approach the game. I don't necessarily love the idea, but I'm trying to be optimistic.
I think he was just musing on the possibility of an open exchange forum, but yeah you're good for it.
Resistance, not immunity. Which has the downside of NOT zooming you out when you get shot, so if someone is shooting you at close range you have to manually zoom out to get full mobility while retaliating. Changes to gameplay sure, but not incredibly advantageous. Without the Grenade launcher, it will take a while to get used to trying to gauge the movement of a banshee (or ground vehicle) at a distance so you can guess when to release the overcharged plasma pistol.
Obviously the regulars here aren't going to **** each other over. I just wish they were verifiable so a public code swap thread would be feasible. It would be nice to have something like that in this situation. It would just be a migraine to moderate without a legitimate means of verification.
Can't really agree with that. Learning to take yourself out of scope and the small amount of effort required to do so hardly offsets the massive ranged advantage. Being able to ping Snipers out of scope is a fundamental aspect of balance for the weapon. Cowardly Snipers like sarge are going to be horrible with that perk. That vengeance perk will help in the longterm, but not in a given battle, and it's a whole can of worms in itself.
