I used to be on a competitive (har har) Grif Ball team back in Halo 3. And I can say, without any reluctance at all, that Grif-ball was the worst gametype experience I had in Reach. It was awful.
Yeah it's really sad, yet another casualty of the kill trade window farce that is Reach. There's no need for the "har har" imo, Grifball is a gametype with real depth to it in strategic terms, just not in the way that is true of the rest of Halo since it's not really a Halo gametype in the regular sense. I'm not really in to any of the tangential Halo gametypes, but the nature of Grifball means that it has a lot of potential for strategy and team play, just like the sports which it emulates, and a mechanic like the one employed in Reach precludes that by hindering nearly every encounter. I really hope they fix that, and I say that as someone who doesn't really enjoy Grifball, but likes seeing solid games like that get a chance to shine.
Yeah, there would be competitive merit if there was a possibility in making a good CQC system for the game. As for racing, it would be fun and competitive if people gave a damn about it (notably bungie/343). Racing, as obvious, is great for real tracks designed for racing, but it was beyond stupid when I tried racing on paradiso in MM, and worse yet, playing rocket-hog race. It's truly unbearable compared to Halo 3 Rocket Race (which is arguably the most competitive racing in H3)
Hey, I love rocket race! Sure, it's not very competitive but I find it pretty fun. Look at you defending racing, just because you beat Seven on Anaheim, lol.
I haven't played any game like Midnight Club or Need for Speed in a while, but I want to believe that racing has been in my blood. As for Rocket race, it was pretty competitive despite the moments when a team's mongoose gets shot constantly and don't stop rolling. Back when Halo 3 had the Rocket Race playlist, it was literally the only thing I played. As you can imagine, I excelled more at driving, but there is nothing more satisfying than landing a rocket from a mile away and causing them to miss the checkpoint, and even blasting your own mongoose into a checkpoint. In a truly competitive matchup, there was anxiety in both the driver and the shooter, because either one of them can choke and cost them the checkpoint. But yes, I did, in fact, undeniably, 100% without a doubt, beat Seven at Anaheim. MX/SX racing is great for halo when considering the skill gap on a map that you can't fall off of.
Yeah it looks a lot better. No giant Wall-E cord coming out of it. I don't mind how either scoring system looks. I like the visual cues of who's winning, that's for sure. (by that I mean the bar length changing to match the score.)
I sent a message to bs angel regarding racing in reach. amazingly enough she replied: I then asked her about Halo 4: SHE GAVE ME THE WINKY FACE!!!!
Lol.look at you offering to do 343's job and run a playlist.not sure what you were thinking there man. Either way I hope this is a playlist in halo 4
This. While it is nice that you suggest stuff, the where you offered to run the playlist was just hilarious. I think the people in charge know what they are doing. I'm not saying that you are not able to find some racetracks of course
well I just thought it could be a community playlist. That was the basic idea. Now that I look at it it was probably (definitely) a stupid thing to say BUT THE POINT STILL STANDS WOOOO!!!
I seriously hate every helmet shown so far. Absolutely none of them have any sort of peripheral vision, and considering the FOV in Halo, it's pretty stupid. Helmets in Halo have always had some sort of periph', and these new helmets just piss me off.
I wouldn't say I hate them...but I seriously don't like them. They also don't look Haloy at all. I can recognize the BR, or the Carbine, or the Hog...but these don't look remotely like Halo helmets to me. How is that HAZOP? Even slightly? Why is there a visor part by his forehead, but not to the sides? What does that do? I miss...you know...having a visor. Give me ODST, Mark V (either [A] or ) and I'll be happy, but these look rather...challenged.
