I'm remembering that, because we know for definite at this point that you can actually do that. Leeching was in H3, so I see no reason why they can't put it in... But then again, it wasn't in Reach.
any word on whether there is the ability to import maps from Reach into Halo 4? I ask because I've only recently gotten into forging and I hate to think I'll ahve to remake what I've done.
you know what would be great? custom callouts like you see in the default maps. Based on the map, you would be able to control the small text in the bottom left corner of your screen that tells you where you are on the map. That would also help make forged maps slightly more competitive.
While Halo Reach broke new grounds with forge world it was just so aesthetically displeasing compared to Halo 3 that I quickly lost any interest in finishing any map I started. I can only hope the new tool kit for 4 will meet my expectations.
You Definitely won't be able to import maps. The maps in halo 4 are new, so nothing will be compatible. Invasion won't. Elites aren't playable. But then again they could do something similar so who knows. VIP will prob be returning, just with some new name we have to remember. We've only seen like 15 minutes of low quality footage from RTX. The entire build showed was still a work in progress. The UI will change and we haven't seen the full item palette.
My Forge Wish list 1. More variety in Textures. (I dont even have to be able to change textures. Just no gray. Seriously If I see more than 10 grey objects I will boycott all future halo games.) 2. More objects! I don't like having 99 object type limits! 3. Perhaps in Forge 4.0 They can include forgable firefight. 4. I want to place Grass! 5. More lights! I want to be able to place at least 1 of each kind of light on a single map. 6. I want to be able to place objects like the Halo 3 Chain Gate/Wall. The kind I can shoot through but not throw grenades/walk through.
Forge 4.0? Halo 3 = 1.0 Halo Reach 2.0 Halo 4 = 3.0 We probably won't have actual grass. We'll have rocks i'm sure but we will most likely still have to use tin cups upside down to simulate grass. And dude...theres like natural grass all over ForgeWorld
yes, having at least three or four textures of each shape would be great. we shouldn't only be able to make halo-esque maps with gray textures. there should be so much more flexibility. I play reach and I see so many textures not provided in Forge, so it makes no sense whatsoever. If they are concerned about ease of use by newbies, just make the default grey and then allow us to change color similarly to how it's done now, but with a full texture swap, not just blue or red or pink highlights around the grey.
I plan on transferring a couple of my finished/near-complete maps to H4, as it's too late for Reach. Although, it's likely that I'll have to redesign them to support the new gametypes like Infinity Slayer, Regicide etc... not looking forward to that lol. Hopefully they can be added into matchmaking if there's a community playlist available, which would be a great way to get my forging talent noticed.
although i'm excited for forge 3.0, if the objects shown in the video are any indication towards what the palette is going to be like, it's going to get boring pretty fast. here's to hoping for an all new palette with different colors besides gray.
Some actual Matchmaking maps really doesnt deserve to be there, and this restrict way to get maps on it (obviously) is not what our community wants for Halo 4.
pretty sure they are fully supporting the forge community from day one. i heard that early copies of the game are going out to prominent forge communities in order to have them make maps so the forge playlist is populated on day one. i only heard this word of mouth though, but it was a reliable source.
