Keep the country rivalry to a minimum please. Discuss your favorite events, favorite atheletes, etc. So how about those opening ceremonies? A lot of people said they were bad or were lacking, but I think they were fine. In a worldly view, all England, especially London is really known for before the early/mid 1900s is imperialism.
I thought the Opening Ceremonies were amazing. Maybe they didn't have the grand scale that Beijing had, but they did something original and put on an amazing performance. And the way the cauldron was formed was nothing less than spectacular. I just wish we could keep this level of friendliness between countries for more than three weeks every two years.
50 Mary Poppins takin' down a 100 ft. Voldemort FTW! I would argue that the exact opposite happens for this period of time.
They didn't get it? Who won then? The US team were fantastic from what I saw, and I was convinced they had it in the bag.
Italy. It came down to the last arrow for Italy, they were down by 9, and the Italian archer shot a bullseye on the line.
Dayum. Anyways yeah Phelps is old (compared to Lochte, who is close to Phelps' beijing age) and just wants to make it to double digit golds.
Wel.... at least we have one Golden medal already so far. :S (Everyone expected waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more by now)
I am not suprised that Canada isn't doing to good. Canada is FTW when it comes to the Winter Olympics. Hockey and Curling is our sport, we won so many gold medals from these sports.
Apparently a US olympian who wins a Gold Medal will, after all is said and done, owe $8,900 in taxes.
