Nobody uses it on MW3. And it doesn't hurt people on MW3.

You mean like a grenade launcher EMP that lasts longer? I guess you could stun banshees if you could detonate it in midair, but wouldn't it be a bit overpowered for land vehicles, or in general vehicles that aren't themselves too powerful?

The Halo Xbox sounds nothing like Halo IMO.

And I know it's not the exact same thing, but the N-Bomb is pretty clearly a predecessor. From what I've seen of the H4 Promethian nades, they function very similarly. Which gives me the impression those Promethian nades are going to be painfully OP. As long as they're treated like power weapons, of course, it should be okay. Kinda looks like a longer range Power Drain.

im pretty sure they confirmed the promethean grenade was an EMP grenade a while ago. with the approximate range of the plasma grenade explosion

It's the persistent field they seem to leave after detonating that I'm referring to.

It would need to have a fairly small radius/duration, and not put too many of them on the map. If you played H3, basically a nerfed version of the power drain. The advantage is that you can throw it farther and more accurately than the power drain. As for comparison to the grenade launcher - well, I wish the grenade launcher was coming back exactly as-is. (Sigh.) But this would work a bit differently - throwing 'nades is very different (as far as aiming) than using the grenade launcher, and the EMP effect of the 'nade launcher is temporary, not persistent.

It appears to persist for a few seconds. The aspect I'm focusing on is that the GL is an instantaneous EMP, while this appears to be sustained for a little bit akin to the Power Drain.
And as far as EMPing a Banshee with it, I hope they make the hitbox for it biggish so you can toss one up and shoot it to set it off. A slowly falling stun trap would be an awesome way to take down an enemy aircraft.

They could always do a remote detonation thing similar to how the GL works. You throw it and if you hold down the trigger, it doesn't go off until you let go. But if it has a persistent effect of 5+ seconds that's probably not necessary.

I can't imagine they'd be setting up remote triggered grenades. They already have the Sticky Detonator for that. If the EMP nades have the capacity to stick vehicles, that would allow aircraft kills too. I think something like that is more likely than remote detonation. It would be really cool if they detonated after a short fuse, kinda like a Power Drain activating. That might be too close to the Power Drain in function, but it would make the Promethian nades a little more restricted and balanced than they currently appear, and enable anti-air usage.

If the EMP field effect affects vehicles after an instant of exposure like the power drain, then the fact that grenades are so much faster (and can be thrown so much farther) already makes up for the disadvantage of the smaller size of its field relative to the power drain; I consider a single promethean grenade as being as powerful as a power drain in that case. While the TU grenade launcher's EMP field is bigger, you had to hold the trigger before you detonated, using focus and time, but with a Pnade you could chuck a plasma or fire your weapon immediately after, if it lasts like the power drain.

If a vehicle needs to be in the field for a full second to be stunned, or if the stun duration is very short, or only as long as the vehicle is in the field, aircraft (especially the banshee) will be much less likely to be endangered by it, no matter how accurately you throw it, unless they make the stun last longer on banshees specifically (I think the stun for EMP weapons in both H3 and Reach was shorter for tanks, so this wouldn't be unprecedented), because a banshee can easily move quickly through an EMP field, a stunned banshee will be a moving target in the second that it falls (unlike ground vehicles which are predictable and easy to nade immediately after they start to slow down), and a Pnade would always move past the banshee (whereas a nade bounced off the ground has a chance of coming to rest near the stunned vehicle).

Power Drain was my arch-enemy in Halo 3. Thing was evil.

Here's hoping it glides long enough to evade if you see it coming. I'd hate to run into the same situation as Reach where you can't avoid nades sometimes even when it's obvious one is coming, only this time it is guaranteed to break and keep shields down in the radius. Though on the whole, nades do look better in H4 so far than in Reach. Easily.

I'm also curious as to how it will work vs. vehicles, especially if you can spawn with it. That could get ugly for vehicles without some fine tuning.

I keep saying this over on Waypoint; I wish nades will get that really short 'casting time' from Halo 3 back. You had to think more about where your nade would end up, because you didn't whip them out like in Reach; taking them out and throwing them took a second. It would allow for nades to keep their power without being too good or easy to use, like in Reach.

Lol, this was debunked a while ago. I'm pretty sure High Ground and Windward were concept art from their respective games while the other two were concept art from Halo Wars.
Oh, and they didn't spell "Industries" correctly.
