    Skyline Terrors

Hello everybody, today I'm going to be posting another map of mine, called Skyline Terrors. It is set in a abandoned city after a strange disease took over the world. The huge skyscrapers are falling over and a squad of spartans have been sent to take out everyone who has gotten the sickness.

The gametype is very unique, because the alpha zombies have infinite dropshields, and the normal zombies have regular dropshields. This is very helpful on this map because of the lack of los blockers, and many spots with only one entrance. It is helpful because the zombies can creat los blockers, and block entrances with their dropshields, like in this photo:

Ok, so now I'm going to show you guys some pictures of the map.

    This is the human spawn:

And just around the corner is the zombie spawn:

And here are some other random pics I took:

For an outsider, this map might look very small and plain, but I can tell such a person that the experience feels far from that. This map gives you a cramped and trapped feeling, and you have to constantly look around to make sure no zombie is sneaking up on you.
The gametype, that utilizes the dropshield ability for the zombies, makes for some really original and different gameplay as zombies have to get closer to the humans safely using their shields, whereas humans have to try to stay away using their evade ability. That's something I really like, you don't see many gametypes that use this style of gameplay and I think it works really well, especially on this map.
The buildings look a little bit dull though, maybe you could work on those some more, but this map is pretty solid all together.

    Thanks for the feedback!

I feel like the pictures are so much uglier than the map is. I'm not sure why. Also, while your playing, the buildings look fine, just not when your focusing on them in a picture, and I can't change them due to framerate and budget. Thanks for the feedback, I'm not sure why not many people have commented yet.

Wait, so is this a free roam/holdout map or a linear progression?

From the pictures, there are one thing that are really frustrating me right now:
    • The piece choice for the roads. Now you have the 2x4s as the sidewalk pieces, which is good, but the road pieces look really ugly because they share similar textures and make it look like a confusing sloppy mish-mash of stripes and grey. If the roads were just coliseum walls, it would look much cleaner.

I'll forge-around on it tomorrow and comment more.

Really? I actually really like the roads... But I trust you have better judgement then me, so I'll go on forge soon and try to change them.

Very cool idea with the gametype. Sounds fun, I will give it a download.

I can see that you have some incredible photos - yet, I also see a lot of Wall Colosseum and thus, a lot of grey that needs some spice. And the photos don't nearly visualize the map well enough for me to give the map a fair critique.

It's really hard to tell what the map looks and plays like. I'd add some more pictures, overview screenshots specifically.

    OK,

Ok, I'll try to get some more pictures. Also if anyone has a good capture card, could you record some gameplay for me? I have the clips already.

    GT:TheOneHeRo
    message me if your interested

also from my personal perspective it seems like from REM's post that its a good and enjoyable map however, i support everyone else's ideas about posting more screenshots or you could just do with some gameplay (and back to where i started....)
but, in general looks like a nice map with a good background concept.
