christopher nolan totally did it on purpose. he was like "we cant kill katie holmes, let's **** up maggie gylenhaal instead"
hahah. I remember when I first saw she replaced Holmes. I freaked out. Maggie looks like a ****ing dog. It was literally my only complaint about The Dark Knight. As for Spider-man, I know it'd be dark, and it'd be pretty messed up, but that helped shape the character big-time. If they really want to bring something memorable and new to the table, they need to do it. Maybe not exactly like that, but she needs to die, and he needs to feel guilty as **** for it. Then in the third movie, they can introduce MaryJane, and they can maybe pick an actress who doesn't suck at playing her this time.
I highly doubt that would happen in a marvel movie. Though an interesting plot direction, if Gwen were to die, it would probably be from a villain. Either that or the movie would need an upgrade in rating.
Spoil nothing. It's common knowledge for anyone who likes Spider-man beyond "yeah, he's cool and stuff". Here's another spoiler! Bane breaks Batman's back in the comics, and he can no longer be Batman! OH WAIT, ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY GIVES A **** ABOUT THE CHARACTER KNEW THAT.
It's a spoiler confirming that those particular Spider-Man arcs/ events you mentioned happen in the movie. But way to imply I know nothing of Spider-Man continuity. That was called-for. Oh, and to those who have seen it, 3D or regular.
I don't give a ****. I don't know anything about spiderman beyond the movies because I never read the comics. I watch Game of Thrones and I never read A Tale of Fire and Ice. I watch The Walking Dead and I never read the comics. I watch True Blood and I never read the books. ****. I CAN'T READ.
Those don't happen in the movie. The movie has nothing to do with the Green Goblin, or Gwen dying. Nothing about what I said spoils anything in the movie. It was merely me voicing my opinion on where I'd LIKE to see them take the trilogy. You cannot spoil what does not exist. I went out of my way to AVOID talking about anything that actually happens in the movie.

Additionally, it wasn't a direct implication at yourself. I'm sure plenty of people here know just as much, if not more than I do. I know a decent amount of the comics, but a great deal of what I learned about spider-man came originally from watching the 90's cartoon series as I grew up. If you didn't call me out saying spoilers for something I consider open and common knowledge, I wouldn't assume you didn't know. It's like me calling people out for saying "didact" when they saw the Halo 4 trailer. As for the movie, IMAX 3D>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3D>Normal. I saw it in both Imax 3D and regular 3D. It was cool in regular 3D, but it lacked... something that the Imax one didn't. There was just something far more spectacular about the visuals in the Imax version. If they don't have Imax near you, cause I don't know if they do or not, then 3D is still better than the regular.
My bad. I don't know why I derp'd like that. I do want to read the books though, just to compare the book and show. (Then ultimately say the book is better, like everybody else says. -__-) I'm not an audiophile though. I just ***** about quality sometimes. D:<
