Ever read The Hatchet by Gary Paulsen?
Basically that, minus the plane crash.
I practically live in the forest. I know how to survive out there.
And I have my M&P 15-22 and a ****-TON of ammo.
Add my girlfriend to the mix, and there you go.

Actually I have read the hatchet.

Anyways here is a scenario for you guys.

You have a group of nine people two of which are injured.you are traveling down a highway towards a city which you heard was a refugee station.you see a car on the side of the road and decide to syphon gas from it.your best friend is the one syphoning the gas.one zombie comes from the trees and someone From the group decides to shoot it instead of doing it quietly.
Your group decides to take camp for the night.they leave you on watch.a group of 20-30 zombies emerge from the forest on the side of the highway.you miraculously all make it out alive...or so you thought.your best friend has been bitten but not killed.you know he will die from the disease in a matter of hours then turn on your group.
What would you do in this situation?

    original scenario:
    1. Grab pre-packed apocalypse bag and throw in whatever stuff isn't in it because I was using it recently
    2. Determine safest route to most suitable defense location

I keep a hatchet I've had since I was 8 under my bed and there's no way I'm leaving without it. Once bitten by a zombie you lose the right to have a head.

I would move to alaska/somewhere snowy, make a house on the top of a mountian, make sure that the area around me is completely cleared of trees/etc, in the middle of nowhere, that way any zombie in the area would be easily spotted. But its very unlikely there will be any, given the temperatures (zombies would freeze) and the absence of life. Then get a bunch of shotgun ammunition and a sniper rifle. Not to mention xbox, cheesepuffs, funions, and so on..

    Original Scenario

Stick with my family. I live right next to my aunt and uncle, so we have like two houses combined, it's kinda complicated. Gather food, weapons, and ammo. Then, I'd barricade the windows and doors with furniture and other materials around the house.

Last resort for me, is to bring the ladder and destroy the stairs. Also, I would turn on all faucets, bath tubs, and sinks for water before they disconnect the main water line. We have several cars, so about two in each garage. One car happens to be a huge-ass Tundra that would bulldoze a bunch of zombies.

After surviving, I'd go out and loot the neighbors; they'd most likely be dead. I have a family of about 9, so some would stay home and watch the house, and some would go out and look for supplies. We already have a large storage of food and water in the third car-garage, so it's not a big worry.

Also, after reading the "Zombie Survival Guide," very interesting read by the way, meaning you should read it sometime, I just hope zombies can only walk and cannot run. Also, if the infection is non-airbourne, meaning only spread through contact. Otherwise, we'd be screwed.

    Second Scenario

Hmm, good scenario. First, I'd try to figure where he was bitten and see if the point could be amputated. It's kinda hard to think about killing your best friend. But when it comes to my family, I might just have to.

I'm curious how you would pull all that stuff off without a plan for the years it would take to set up.

    Original Scenario:

Get as far out of Memphis as I can, heading towards the gulf. Once I get there, I would ideally steal a boat and then call my friend in the air force and get him to tell me where I can find an Aircraft carrier, navigate my way there and then live out my days on it, or at least sit out the outbreak. Assuming I cannot contact my friend, or he cannot get me directions to an aircraft carrier, I head for Cuba or another Caribbean island and hope that the combined heat and humidity will rot the flesh on the zombies at an accelerated rate, thus removing the need to purge them manually from the island. If I learn that they will not rot away, I find a plane, fuel up, get clothing for sub zero temp. and fly to a science base on Antarctica. The zombies, if they got there would freeze outside the base.

Obviously I try as much as I can to avoid conflict with the zombies, rather than blasting my way through waves of them. I also evade any survivors I did not know prior to the outbreak.

    Second Scenario:

Make an estimate on how long ago he was bitten, if it was longer than 30 minutes ago say I'm sorry to him and tie him to a tree or if he does not comply, shoot him.

If it was less than 30 minutes, I would scrounge up whatever medicine we had, give it to him, if the wound was amputatable, amputate. If not, cauterize the wound. Afterwards, bind his hands behind back. If he does turn into a zombie after all that, I would shoot him obviously.

I would have to agree with you on the second scenario.i think.we would probely ask him what he wanted(likely he wouldn't mind during if he already knows he's going to die and then come back as a zombie)if not we hold a debate.if we decide kill him then...you kill him if they decide let him live and see the outcome chain his arm to something and keep him company while he goes.

I don't think I could ever kill my best friend(s). I'd just have him sent away and look after himself rather than to see him become a zombie and having to shoot him afterwards.

No doubt it would be a hard decision but it's one good friend against eight other people I think the rest weigh a bit more heavily.then again I couldn't be the one pulling the trigger on my best friend.even if he did want it.

    My bad: Buy/occupy a house ;)

Anyways I'd say the movie, I am Legend, is a good example of the apocalyptic scenario.

I wouldn't know really, I never actually used it. I hated Armor Lock from the beginning, it should've just restricted to anti-vehicular usage. Never was an Armor Ability person anyway outside of specific minigames that used them, but oh well. But that's off-topic, let's stick with the Apocalypse stuff here. :p

Jetpack, on the other hand, could be really, really useful.

Hologram will help a lot since hopefully zombies are really stupid. Not sure if we reached that level of technology though.

I rather stick in Holland. We have water. And it rains a lot, I hope zombies don't like that.
(The lack of elevation might become an issue, though.)
