You can get the DMR in General Military, Barracks, Crash sites and maybe deer stands

You can easily fill up a backpack with blood bags from 1 hospital visit.

Permadeath is just you lose all your stuff. You can get lucky and find your corpse or have a buddy watch over it while you treck back. But dont get attached to the stuff you get. Everything is temporary.

You really got to get use to dieing alot and dieing without reason. You will die. Its like Dark Souls with Guns. I've been alive for about 16 hrs and before I've died at least 10 times in the course of 5-6 hrs.

I just managed to kill a guy with a ghillie suit, NVGs, M14 and G17. I kill him with FN FAL and my heart is pumping. I managed to take all of his goodies and hopefully some of my friends will be able to extract me since I only have 4.8k health.

Can you go over the 12k cap with cooked meat?

Damn, nice. I believe it caps out at 12,000 still, I'm not sure. Doesn't steak replenish around 800 Health Points (Blood)?

But anyways, I was watching this at a friend's house, and it was pretty interesting. He was a bandit, but out of pure self-defense. What I thought was cool however, was the fact that once you reach below 0 Humanity or something (Not Sure), you get the military camoflauge (Bandit). His group was pretty loaded too.

It was also fun watching him and his group raid Chernogorsk. After watching my friend, I realized how closely simulated this game was. It's not the real deal, but a pretty good simulator. Sadly, lag is somewhat common and sometimes, zombies would teleport behind you if they were running in front.

Me and a couple guys from the GoO met up and started heading north to meet up with the rest of the group today. After about 4ish hours of raiding Elektro, we started heading across the field by the power plant and had a single zombie chasing us. We figured we'd just shoot it as there weren't any more zombies around. About 7 seconds after M00SE fired the shot that killed the zombie, we had bullets flying at us from another player. The guy who was carrying all our valuable loot ended up dying before he could disconnect. M00SE and I both got hit a couple times, too. We were all so pissed off.

After that, me and M00SE switched servers and healed up. We then proceeded to loot the barn directly north of the town. After collecting a new gun for him and some ammo for me, we saw another player poking around the Power Plant. We walked down and met up with him and asked if he had anything to trade. Then, M00SE just simply told me "Dude. We've gotta kill this guy..." So I'm now an accessory to murder. Got myself a nice winchester and some makarov ammo, though.

Next we decided we should move to Rog as there's usually some good loot there. We were right. Once we entered the centre tower at Rog we found a dead body that had an Alice Pack, an M1911, lots of Enfield ammo, and all the food we'd need to last us a few days. Luck was turning in our favor after all.

After that we met up with Furg, the guy who got killed earlier, and started moving up to the forests around Msta.

I survived! I managed to head south back to the Military Camp near Balota Airstrip where some of my friends were located. I was on the shore when they were ambushed but could only get a good shot at one at a time. Rather than cheating by shooting them and disconnecting, I headed back in the direction of Kamenka to rendezvous with another friend who performed a blood transfusion.

We headed north/northeast and hit up two castles and a few hunting stands. With little to no yield, we worried we were trailing somebody else. We then backtracked to Stary Sobor where a player lobbed a grenade which had its explosive radius no more than a few feet away. It was frightening! Luckily, I got the drop on him and looted the tents with a buddy.

Now, we're headed back South to pick up a few buddies. I have a full kit ready, complete with GPS (which helps so much!), other tools and the M14 which I looted earlier. I'm currently looking everywhere for a Ghillie Suit and passively looking for Helicopter Sites and that sweet Camo SVD.

There is so much depth to this game... I'm really amazed by it. You know you're heading north if you look at the stars, the sniping mechanics aren't automatic, and countless other little things. Sure, it's not perfect but it's all about survival. The feeling of losing everything you have earned in a single shot is scary but I have never felt this paranoid and excited at the same time in a game before. It makes for some really intense moments. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea but I absolutely love it.

I don't understand what's happening in the video.

I'm installing windows tonight or tomorrow so I can use source filmmaker. May be getting Arma 2.

My friend's been playing this from the very beginning. Went to his house well over a month ago and got some time in, and I ****ing loved it.

Went back about 3 weeks ago, and the thing turned into Call of Duty, everyone was just shooting on sight, and the Bandit skin and Karma system weren't very good.

    Has much changed since?

It's pretty much a domino effect:
    >Person1 is an asshole and shoots Person2 for no real reason
    >Person2 is now paranoid and will shoot Person3 because they don't want to end up getting killed
    >Person3 is now paranoid and will shoot Person4 because they don't want to end up getting killed
And so on and so on...

So no, it hasn't changed. And it probably never will.

    make your own mod then?

you realise all of the scripting functions are in the game. it's a days work making something infinitely repayable online.

You can store a bunch of stuff in tents so whenever a person finds them they automatically think there's something good in them.

To all those saying there are no friendlies in the game anymore. No, there isn't... If you have a gun, you're pretty much kill on sight. If you're a fresh spawn, don't have a weapon or a melee weapon, there's a likely chance you won't be shot on sight. Although, you may be stalked for a little bit.

If there's a person with a gun around, they're a liability. If you don't want to die, the obvious choice is to eliminate all risks.

Download the link in the green box at the top for beta patches:
    Beta patch

Note: You'll still need to download the mod. I prefer using SixLauncher though, it automatically updates.

It closes your game and disconnects you from the server. People do it to avoid being killed by other players and zombies. Also, there's a glitch where if you alt-f4 before the 'You are dead' screen (after you're killed), your body will disappear off the server so other players can't get your gear.

Arma2 CO is on sale for $17.99 on Steam right now.[40% OFF] Its been worth every penny in my experience if you can play through the occasional glitches and enjoy yourself like we do, its a blast.
