Techically... I have made a map preview of this before, but at the time, it was basically just a concept and barely started the map.

IMPORTANT: I DON'T HAVE XBOX LIVE GOLD AT THE MOMENT!!

So I'm making one again, this one providing screenshots.

This map is an attempt at creating an almost mini-game like structure where one or more players are given the ability to build a maze. So basically, during the run-time of the game, it is being "built" by the players for the players.

There are some issues with the mechanisms that I don't know how to avoid, main one being the use of a tripmine.

    Screenshots:

The map on a blank slate, before alterations start being made:

The "goal" given to players to interact with the mechanisms:

    "Rat" passing through intersection:

One second after passing through intersection:

The maze is most definitely "alive"

After 60 second reset, walls spawn in on their own, not all walls have been fortified with the countermeasure:

    The Mechanisms!:

This mechanism doesn't have the 60 second reset countermeasure:

But this mechanism does have it (you might find inconsistency in objects used, but I don't have to use the same objects on every one, I can change it up):

After a mechanism with the reset counter measure reaches the appropriate reset time, this is what it looks like:

I explained how the mechanisms work in this thread here http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-forge-discussion/139124-sharing-my-mechanism.html

When I tested this, I was astonished on how the game was working. There were some major issues, but you had the overall concept down. This was a long time ago too, so I assume that you have already done some major improvements. I'll give it another test right away.

You should go down to your local GameStop and ask very nicely if they have any 48 hour Gold trials laying around. If the workers are nice they should give you at least one. I've done that a few times and it's actually worked, I got the Gears 2 pre-order bonuses that way as well.

On topic, this seems like a really interesting concept. I'm a bit confused on how an actual game would be played on this though. Guess I'll go read the original thread!

How come I never knew about this? This is AWESOME!
We should talk to each other sometime, I have some minigame ideas myself too, just gotta find the time to forge them. Maybe we can give each other some inspiration or tips :)
(Without trying to steal our ideas of course :p)

Very neat. It looks really cool and I love maps that use complicated mechanisms and such. Now I just want to test this to see if it is fun!

    Good work.
