    Vivace

    Vivace is my newest map aimed at pleasing the competitive crowd. It definitely has the cleanest forging I've ever done. It is a very simple layout with much height variation. Here are some pictures:

    I wouldn't exactly say there's alot of height variation going on. There's a decent amount of subtle height changes, but the highest position in the map isn't very far from the bottom.

    To be brutally honest I don't see any difference from the average map in that area. The relatively flat grassy area seems to result in a lot of boringness.

    I like the look of the map, but Im guessing you still have plenty of budget left. So maybe you can raise those structures higher from the ground and do some tunnels/rooms beneath them?

    There also seems to be a lack of structure on the map, meaning there really isn't enough solid "cover" on the map. You have those covers placed around and those will not provide enough structure and cover to allow players to re-gain their shields and make a safe escape.

    I like that you tried something different, but the map is lacking structurally.

    The Middle of the map is like so like HALO CE!?!?!11!?! [in girly teenager voice] really it looks quite small and wierd in my opinion, I like that your trying something different but I dont think it'll work.

    It does look very cleanly forged! A few things which seem problematic though. In picture one, the closest structure to the camera (the one with what looks like a needler or plasma rifle on it) i would raise the entire structure by about the equivalent of a 1 block. And the same to the other identical one. The center structure is pretty good, i would advise adding some cover to break up the openness around the columns. And maybe try to raise the height of the columns if you do to the bases.

    I disagree with that bold part. I do like what you have started here but I think it is just a start, while you seem to think it's close to done and posted a preview. This clearly has problems but they can be fixed quite easily. You need structure, buildings and such. What you have are platforms that connect, make them into buildings. Another issue is the flatness of the map, there are many ways to dress this so all I will say is create more dramatic elevation change in some places. one last mention I have is that this reminds me a lot of Asylum. Take it at whatever but it does look a lot like that map. If you want some assistance I would be happy to help provided I am able to.
