    Here is a random thought.

What if Forge in Halo 4 uses the kinect?

Better question, what if it was Kinect exclusive? :p
Better question again, what if it was Kinect exclusive, until you pay 1000 MSP to unlock a Forge that you could use a controller on? :p

I think I'd be more pissed at the second option :p

well, EA isn't making the game so we don't have to worry about that.

So far I've been pretty happy with what I've seen and heard from E3. I still have doubts about the competitive merit of the game, but I know for sure I will buy it at least for the campaign at this point.

What I'm most interested in hearing about is:
    -Average kill times?
    -Strafe responsiveness?
-How bad is the BR's spread?
-How bad is the DMR's bloom?
    -How balanced is the sandbox?
    -Is there melee bleed through?

I want a responsive strafe. I want a consistent and accurate utility weapon. I want a unique and balanced sandbox. I want bleed through.

I only have 6 concerns left for 343i to address.

    - Why can we not have two "primary" weapons without a perk? What is a secondary?
    - Therefore, what can and we cannot pick up on the map?

    - Unlocking weapons. WHY!!!!!!
    - In the demo only 3 armour perms were shown. Will there be more?
    - The sounds on the grenade and a couple of other weapons are shite.
    - Why can we not have elites in multiplayer, but we can have covvy weapons?

For anyone that was a fan of the ODST helmet, here's a possible confirmation of its appearance in Halo 4. The thumbnail image for the video in the article shows Master Chief and 3 other spartans, two of which are sporting the ODST helmet while the other seems to be sporting some sort of helmet with a see-through visor.

    1. im pretty sure the perk allows you to spawn with 2 primary weapons, such as BR and AR instead of a pistol secondary. im sure you'll still be able to pick up any 2 weapons without the perk.
    2. why not? its fun to work toward a reward, and im sure the starting weapons wont be horrible, so that you'll have a disadvantage starting out. and if you get the game day 1, who cares, everyone else with start with the same stuff you do.
    3. id be willing to bet all the money currently to my name that there will be more that 3.
    4. i guess thats your opinion, but i think everything sounds great, especially all the human weapons.
    5. because elites are for children, and also it wouldnt fit into the whole spartan war games thing. there are covenant weapons because the spartans probably need to train with them so they are able to use them.

Then surely... they need to fight against them.

indeed, but thats what spartan ops is for. surely, one of the spartans wont be controlling the body of an elite in their war games training exercises. mind unblown.

im actually not sure if the spartan ops are real or virtual haha, but the second point still stands.

There are a few things I'm concerned with... but as a whole the gameplay looks a whole lot better than Reach. I think that, we can all agree on.

    1. (Same as Oli) There's no confirmation of whether the two primary weapon perk just enables you to spawn at start with two primarys (Which is a bit unneccessary as who needs both a DMR and a Needle Rifle at the same time?) So, the what you can pick up would be a nice confirmation without. If you can get any weapon without the perk, the perk itself isn't really necessary as you battle for weapons in all other Halo games. I'd rather just have my health back faster to get me back into action quicker.

    2. These kill-streak rewards... I don't know if this is the same for most people, but I think I'm close to having 1 game in 15 where I don't actually get a killing spree, at least once... without perks and stupid things making it easier for me. If I get a killing spree (like the dude in the vid said), I'm going to get it over and over and over because it just becomes easier and easier as time goes on. If it were my choice, I'd have set the reward cap for every 10 kills. A frenzy is an achievement in a game, a killing spree is meh.

    3. Grenade power isn't something that majorly concerns me IF the maps are built to support larger explosions. All these tight, crappy corners in Reach with all these grenades with immense explosive power makes for a nade-spam fest. If the maps are more open with less clutter everywhere, then a more powerful grenade wouldn't be so bad (as long as it will still only just reduce shields and not get you an instant kill).

    4. The way the dude mentioned the differences between DMR and BR. If anything, the DMR should be the more accurate and easier to hit on an enemy. As he mentioned that his aim was good, it made the BR a little unnecessary so I think the main issue for the game at the minute is balancing these two great weapons evenly, giving one an advantage over the other in one scenario, and vice versa.

the first, although i guess it hasnt been confirmed, i can almost guarantee you that the perk will allow you to spawn with two primaries. to some might it might seem useless, but i guess others would want to spawn with something like BR/shotty or DMR/AR. restricting what you can pick up simply does not make sense.

the second, i think it has been confirmed that the kill streak rewards only happen in the new "infinity" gametype, where you get points for everything you do, such as assassinations or assists or double kills or what have you, and you play to a certain number of points instead of a certain number of kills. the ordinance drops will not be in normal team slayer, i do believe.

While the guy on the left and the dude in the back do indeed look like spartans, if you look at what the dude with the see through visor is wearing you'll notice he is just a normal ever day marine.

Anyone remember in Halo PC how as you got more kills, you'd walk slower? I loved that really. Now they reward people for killing so they can kill more, get more rewards, kill more etc. I think that people need challenge and not have the game play itself after getting a killing spree.

i would hardly call getting one ordinance drop that could possibly fall next to an enemy rather than you, in one gametype in the game, the game "playing itself"

Just remember guys: we got exactly what we asked for in Reach's forge. Ask and you shall receive (just be careful what you wish for). Don't complain when you got what you asked for.

I'm still iffy on these ordinance drops and custom loadouts (this includes AAs and perks, for lack of a better word). Those two are my biggest problems. Give me a decent number of playlists without those gimmicks being dominant and I'll sit happily on an LE preorder. This is assuming great Customs and Forge are announced, because I don't see how or why 343i would screw those over. We shall see.

Drops and killstreaks always sounded silly to me. You shouldn't get more powerful for doing well. Doing well should be a result of higher skill and that skill should be all a player needs to keep the spree going. On the other side, doing poorly doesn't warrant getting a crutch to help beat better players, as that completely kills the skill gap. Ordinance seems like it's only going to make games more one-sided once a team begins to take control. It also defeats the purpose of opening a match by rushing certain locations to get power weapons, such as the rockets on most maps and any other precariously perched power weapon. They added incentive at the beginning to keep players moving. Without these pickups, there is less of a reason for players to play more aggressively. That worries me.

I do agree with Noxy in some ways. Reach's Forge was one step forward and two steps backwards.
They gave us all this new stuff, but we couldn't use any of it really due to framerate issues.
None of the items could be locked together properly as they were all different sizes and depths and textures.
