By less custom game options do you mean less gametypes to choose from? Because even in that respect they didn't really lose gametypes besides VIP and there was much more customization for pretty much everything about the game you and your friends played.

I agree with everything else though; let's see a goddamn forge preview or some more maps! I want to see the new forge environment so I can get an idea on what we're workin with here.

WTF people, are you gonna complain about the friggin' sounds now? The gameplay apparently will be awesome, the weapons are awesome, the realtime is awesome, the graphics and the new enemies are awesome. Complaining about sounds goes a bit too far when you're looking for stuff to hate on.

Now I hear that. We've seen footage of or heard of just about everything else but forge and theater at this point. If it's apparently so amazing with the new forge maps/environments, then stick to your guns 343i and show us just how amazing it really is.

I preordered Halo 4 limited edition today. feelsgoodman.jpg

When Reach first came out the custom gametype options were abysmal. Bungie and 343 basically had to mod the existing gametypes to give more options because people were complaining. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but they didn't have to do that with any other Halo.

Sounds are VERY important. It doesn't matter how good the graphics are, if a game has **** sounds it can not provide for an immersive experience. I think the sounds are great, especially for guns like the BR and DMR (I LOVE the sound of the DMR). The storm rifle and turret do sound retarded, though.

Things like gun sounds do change a lot from E3 to the time a game ships. I wouldn't get to angry over this yet.

Damn, wheres Neo when you need him. Oh well, he will always be in my signature <3

But wihle the sounds seems pretentious, they do make up a giant part of the game. And you have to live with REALLY crappy gun sounds. It's a bigger problem then you think.

Very true. This is some of the easiest stuff (far more so than graphics, level design, core mechanics, etc.) for them to replace or tweak.

How can a sound be pretentious? >.<

Anyway, I agree with Sec, the Turret sounds like complete crap. And the bullets coming from the Turret look pretty ridiculous too, in my opinion.

Hopefully we get some good multiplayer footage soon.

This is the only real complaint I've had. I'm honestly stoked for this game. I like almost everything they showed about it so far, but you can't say sound effects aren't important. Yes, graphics, weapons, and gameplay are a lot more important, but if don't get the sound effects right it can kind of ruin everything else. If I'm knee-deep in snow and I throw down a grenade, I don't want it sounding like I smacked a tin can with my grandma's walking stick. If a game's sound effects sound too unnatural it can kinda ruin everything else.

But again, aside from that, I am beyond excited for this game after what I saw yesterday. Probably even more so than I was with halo 3.

Those map overview shots don't really show any forge-able playspace there...

Also, do I spy a Flak-Cannon in that?

This game is not Call of Duty... It's Unreal Tournament! :D

That's exactly what I thought when I saw that Flak-ish gun.

From what I can see in the first video, those 2(?) maps look like a mix of Countdown and Condemned on one, and Breakpoint and Highlands on the other. Really looks like Reach's gameplay tbh. Still looks quite creamtastic.

Can I haz drivable pelican nao?

I was surprised by how much the gameplay looks like Halo. True, they're destroying their core forumlas, but it still really looks like a Halo game. Which is pretty cool.

The movement/gravity looks really really good too.

Currently I'm going to have to give multiplayer a solid notsureifwant out of 10.

Multiplayer looks much better than I was expecting before E3. I still don't like the idea of unlocking weapons and a lot of things are still pretty iffy, but it shouldn't be too bad if 343i plays their cards right. It looks enjoyable, and 343 seem to have retained the "Halo" feel.

The campaign looks fantastic and I can't wait to play it. Same goes for Spartan Ops; it looks just like Firefight, only better. I wish they would change the name, though. If it's anything like FF, hopefully it can still be customized like in Reach (but probably not). Also,
343, Y U NO GIVE US FLOOD FIREFIGHT YET
    . So far, I have to give campaign/OPs a 8.5/10.

someone at 343, i believe frank, said that the 10 multiplayer maps the game ships with "does not include forge maps/environments."
