I love the new enemies. I feel like you'll actually have to do more than just point and shoot at them.

Yea that is one thing. I like the forerunner guns, but these new enemies seem kinda strange, as if they belong in another shooter franchise. It's whatever though, I'm sure after I've played the game for a month they'll fit right in with everything else

My only complaint about these guys is that it seems our new enemies are Bionicles.

He said that there would be 10 maps not including forge maps/environments.

the enemies do look a bit odd, considering all forerunner tech in past games as had a blueish glow about them, not orange. i dont know if they're precursor or what

It seemed like there was just too much, and I'm not talking about the fact that there was someone who practiced playing the demo by looking around, and waiting for things to happen, I was thinking more along the lines of how you get cut off to watch a first person fight scene, etc... Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the animations and think they're incredibly cool, and maybe it is just this way on this particular level to introduce the threat of the new enemy; we don't know yet, but if it's like Black Ops' campaign, I'm going to be a little bit frustrated with how they need to interrupt me every few seconds on every level to throw an explosion in my face and turn the campaign into more of a movie than a game. Personally, I don't like that concept; I don't like being interrupted as much as possible to watch the game automatically do all of the badass things that I wanted to do myself because it limits my freedom immensely, ensures linearity, kills the replayability for me, and can ruin the complexity of the campaign.

And to your other point about linearity not being a problem and nothing new. It really isn't to some degree, but for the sake of variety in the game and keeping it fresh, there probably should be at least some openness to the game. I would say that in Halo CE, there were a lot of open maps, such as Silent Cartographer, Halo, and Assault on the Control Room and Reach levels like Tip of the Spear, Winter Contingency, New Alexandria, ONI Sword Base, and the Pillar of Autumn : they had a predefined path, but gave the player a big world (that typically funnel down into small, linear passages, and then back into another big world) which allow gamers to take different approaches and give them freedom to think for themselves. Along with this, it also allows the campaign to have more replay value by making exploration available when there's nothing left to do. I dunno if you don't think that way, but I personally think that it is the only thing that makes the campaign actually worth playing more than once or twice.

Oh my god, yes. I see it xD

    NEW Halo 4 Trailer! - Microsoft E3 2012 Press Conference - YouTube

Not sure if that's been posted.

In it Cortana says that AI deteriorate after 7 years and she's 8. Later she screams "I will not allow you to leave this planet!"
I feel like she isn't actually going insane, and that she is screaming at Forerunner, but maybe that is just wishful thinking.

Part of me makes me think that maybe she wants to find a way to prolong her life on Requiem and will butt heads with MC when the Infinity wants to GTFO.

I just realized something. The new AR doesn't sound like an AK, it sounds like the G3 from Far Cry 2.

    A round from Reach's sniper? :D

Maybe we'll get some marathon-esque story where you have to stop the AI from helping the enemy (Tycho in M1, Durandal in M2), would be interesting to see what Cortana does with forerunner technology. I'm really liking the quality of the graphics from the looks of it so far, I feel like I underestimated 343.

It starts at 9 CST on spike.

Anyways, thought you guys might be interested in this. Someone with a good eye might have spotted the new ranking system.

Cool, thanks Cluck. Also, I am not entirely sure on that video claim. If you look above that where the image of the spartan is there is a meter with the rank 'BA General'. Perhaps these are rankings for different things? One perhaps an overall rank and another a multiplayer or spartan ops specific one? Regardless there does appear to be 2 rankings.

Hate to be that (scorch) guy...

    (I'm so funny...)

I'm siked for the campaign. Though as much as I like Bionicles, I don't see them as really...fitting well into Halo. Though I suppose it's time for something new. I'm sure I'd see it as quite strange if we'd been dealing with these Promethean buddies for 3 games and then pop, Flood, so I see it as fresh and acceptable. I'll sorta miss the Flood though. Sorta.

I'm interested to see how they weave this new faction, the Covenant and the UNSC into a cohesive and interesting tale. Also wondering where the Covenant got into Requiem. Hm. Should be good. Graphics look fantastic, not much else to say there.

However, the Multiplayer is still bugging me. Near infinite sprint (+sword?), that hard-light shield AA (Is it just a shield door essentially? They guy smacks him right through it.), 'pointstreaks' for lack of a better name (in case someone hasn't suggested it, I'm pretty sure that box thing with the circle bar around it is ordinance drops. It's the ordinance indicator from reach and the bar fills a lil bit after the guy gets each kill, and also when the guy in BTB gets an assist), clutter on the HUD, 4 guns that very nearly do the same thing (DMR, BR, LightRifle, Carbine), custom loadouts, a good AR...

It looks like you could remove half of the weapons and still have some that serve exactly the same purpose. Seems pointless to me.

Looks like "Reach II: We Fixed It". Looks like a damn nice sequel to Reach, but I didn't really want a sequel to Reach. It's as if the story is directly the continuation of Halo 3, but multiplayer-wise the continuation of Reach. If you slapped a different skin on that Multiplayer, I definitely wouldn't buy it. I'd look at it, but ultimately it doesn't look like the sort of arena-based FPS I like to play. It looks good, just...it's not what I'm after.

Who knows though. I might turn around. A lot of the stuff could change or be revealed in more depth as more info comes out. I remain open towards new info, but still not excited for Halo 4, at least from a multiplayer standpoint.

Could wait until the 343i conference tomorrow before asking questions that will either be answered there or answered through interviews afterward. And if they aren't then they're too specific a question to be asked prior to the game releasing.

You have gathered me in your audience, Scorch. (I can play with my username as well, sir).

I think what I always have abou H4. It looks like fun, albeit having some issues I am unsure over due to a lack of information. You have highlighted my concerns, yet the game still looks like a lot of fun so I am fine to wait for more info. As for your multiple guns acting the ame way claim- you are right, but that's something that has always been in Halo (AR/ Plasma Rifle/ Plasma Repeater, DMR/Needle R., etc.) and while 4 of these weapons seem (we still have no specifics) to be extremely similar in use, the variety will be nice. Let's see what 343i say later though, m'kay?
