So I have been trying to make the energy sword stand upright a few inches off the ground many times, I have tried with phased and fixed physics, but wen u drop the weapon on fixed it floats and on phased u can't pick it up again and it floats, I've seen on matchmaking forgemaps like trident them accomplish wat I'm tryin to do, but wen I check all of the properties they are all set to normal and therefore it shuld fall, but it doesn't, so is there something I am missing or do u have to work for 343 ind. To do this, let me no
1) make sure you are setting the energy sword on a FLAT surface 2) use coordinate bumping so that the bottom of the energy sword is just above the floor 3) position the sword 4) lift the sword up, then down a bit, until it JUST stops moving (hits the ground), you want to make sure that the sword is perfectly vertical 5) place the sword and see how it lands, if it falls a bit, you did not place it close enough to the floor, if it tilts and falls, you were too close. *note NEVER use fixed/phased dynamics on any weapons (grenades are fine), they screw up game play. (unless the person using the weapon does not plan to drop it until the weapon is completely empty)
SilentJacket has a very good solution for you it, and what you can also do if you want to make it a little bit more aesthetically pleasing, is to place a flag stand where you want the sword to be, and then forge a sword and place it right on top of the flag stand, without changing the physics (so just leave it to "normal".) This way, the sword will automatically be stationed on the flag stand because of its symmetrical shape. For more information, read this. Hope it will help you! [br][/br]Edited by merge: ^This.
Don't leave grenades on fixed or phased either as they can actually stop a player's movement if they have the full grenade count and run into one.
