Select Forged by SecretSchnitzel and Co. Select is an elongated bridge based symmetrical map designed for submission to MLG for their play list. It traces its primary source of inspiration back to H3's Narrows, however, it is far departed from that map in the same sense. This map ideal for MLG 3 Flag, however it supports Bomb, Territories, Slayer, Oddball and KotH strongly as well. Gametypes: Team Slayer Territories KotH Oddball Bomb CTF Weapons: DMR x6 Needle Rifle x4 Plasma Pistol x2 Sniper x2 Rockets x1 Frags x2 Plasma x2 Equipment Invis x1 OS x1 Med Kit x2 Screenshots: OLD Screens Spoiler This map is a testament to what a open and supportive can accomplish. The original concept and design of this map is my work, however as time progress and I'd hit "forger's block" I started to bring in my peers for assistance. This slowly turned into a massive collaboration between Dawkins, Bleu and GreedyGuts with myself steering the way. A lot of the brace work branching off the main bridge to the streets is attributed to Bleu, however he was a also present to help with a lot of the forging over all. The base design is attributed to GreedyGuts and Dawkins. Greedy designed the original, however we could not implement it correctly with our Mancannons and thus Dawkins redesigned it to do so. The final base design was what I tweaked from the prior two. Over all we shared ideas and were very open to what each other had to say. While I was the final deciding factor in any matter, I placed much value on the input of the other forgers. This map would not have been possible without them. Download Select
Whoo bout time I finally see this map released. Dude I'm I'm not going to lie, this map looked amazing before it was finished. But now..........wow. Not to see if it plays any good.
I showed you this back when it was still in conceptual phase right? It's come a long way since... And has eaten up waaaaay too much time. Game play is, as usual, phenomenal. Even better yet, of all my maps this one is the easier to port to non-MLG gametypes. There are a few points JPers can abuse, but those points are very open and offer little advantage. Points that would be game breaking have been soft killed. I'm interested to see how this will be received here at FH considering the authorship and all. I honestly expect to get either ignored or trolled hard.
Not downloaded the map or played it yet, but just giving you a heads up SS. The title can only be Select and nothing more. Just go into advanced editor and change the name, or if it still doesn't update (because it's been in the database for too long) you can pm a mod to do it for you.
considering you say its ideal for MLG gametypes, i dont see how you think this doesnt belong in MLG. buddy bumping is pro. i thought you "quit" FH like a week ago? hurry up and leave already. as far as the map is concerned, i downloaded it last night but i havent had a chance to play yet. from the looks of it, it should be a great time. if you stop complaining and crying and buddybumping all the time and just post your maps like everyone else, maybe you'd have a better time here. theres no doubt in anyones mind that you are a decent forger, its your obnoxious, self-entitled bullshit that we all hate you for. grow up.

lol, to be honest, that's one of the rules I like and see the point of... If everyone puts advertisement slogans and stuff in the titles it'd make the map database even more of a spam fest. Got it queue'd for download now, should be able to look around it tomorrow when i get back. Looks pretty good from the pics though EDIT: Thought it was a light before, but how's the active camo working? I hate the Reach version because it provides no real change in games for me because it still de-activates when moving :/ The only pro of it really is that the radar doesn't jam, so people don't know you're nearby...
got a chance to play this tonight, i was very impressed. you have a great sense for layouts, and this layout rocks. great flow throughout the entire thing, i honestly cant think of anything i didnt enjoy on this. okay, one thing: the one way doors on either side of the lifts... i just thought they looked weird. but thats not a gameplay issue so **** it. great map.
@Titmar: Glad you gave it a chance and enjoyed it. I wish the shield doors weren't necessary, however, they're needed to catch the player from smashing against the wall as the heavy mancannons are the only one's strong enough to make the distance... And are too strong at that. :/ @Proxi: Thanks man. I probably should have included that video and written this up a little better to show this isn't exclusively for MLG. It's a bit funny how all the other MLG forgers here don't get their maps moved. Oh wait... They didn't piss off certain individuals like I did. And to answer your question that seems to be missing now... It's because come people are lacking any sort of thickness to their skin. If you don't go out of your way to be "polite", they seem to take offense. Seriously, if you haven't downloaded and played flag on this map, you are totally missing out on one of the funnest maps forged. Thanks for making this one Schnitz and I really like what you did with the bases and the top mid change. By the way, can you re-add me to your friends list so we can play some customs?
Congrats on another FHF victory dude. You seem to have a large following here... Anyways, this is my favorite of your maps by far. Good work. My only critique is that the main bridge isn't high enough. Doesnt feel like it gives a strong enough advantage against the streets.
Thanks every one who's supported this map. This is my last original for a long time to come. New versions are up in my fileshare, Select v2.2 for MLG and Select (CC) for standard game types.
I went over it with Killa KC the other day in forge. He told me a few small changes to make and said he's starting in-office testing on it after Dallas. There have been major changes to the map since the original post. Will update in the near future.

I'm surprised that the map gets a feature on THFE when it was out so long and has since been retired from matchmaking. Oh, well, keeps it relevant I guess
