Link. I think it's pretty interesting that they'll have to produce a game every other year as well as expansion packs. I hope Bungie can still keep the quality theyre known for.
I am highly on edge with this news. I was looking forward to their next game, but I don't know how I feel about that release schedule, all the references to "replacing call of duty", and their partnership with Activision.
it's interesting, but hearing that it's published by Activision sends shivers down my spine. I don't want either a CoD clone or a wierd hhot-key based WoW shooter, please!
A new game EVERY OTHER YEAR with FOUR DLCs. **** that ****. Why Bungie would rather work with Activision than Microsoft is beyond me.
The reason why Activision are the biggest scumbags in the gaming industry is there for all to see right there. They closed down Bizzare. One of the best studios around who created the PGR series all because Blur didn't sell very well.
sigh...thought we got past all this when the deal happened. Bungie isn't owned by Activision. They partnered with them. The agreement being Activision pays for distribution, marketing, packaging, etc, and Bungie remains in complete control of creative decisions and when things release. I'll look up Bungie's signing with Activision in a little bit.
Hahaha ... interesting clause: "in the event Halo: Reach fails to score a game rating of at least eighty (80) according to gamerankings.com..." On topic, i could not care less about Bungies next game.
A game every two years? Welp, there goes a lot of my faith in Bungie's future games... Bethesda, Valve, and Gearbox are pretty much the only developers I really hold faith in anymore. Who knows, maybe Bungie can pull it off. They made ODST in about 2 years, and that was the best Halo game by a long shot, so I'll try to keep my prejudice of Activision held aside for now and wait until I actually see what the game's gonna be.
I wasn't being completely serious, but I meant that they would never want to release the game because they didn't think it was complete. A Bungie employee said something along those lines in a behind-the-scenes video or something.
MOAR MARATHON. I could care less about Destiny, bring it on, Marathon 3. On a more serious note, I hope bungie can still put out a game of Halo's quality in 2 years, along with the DLC. I assume the first game is exclusive to Xbox because they want it as a release title for the new console?
I must say that I have faith that if they are motivated great games may come in these two year periods. Look at Assassin's Creed. Each game has taken a short time to make and they consistently get better with each installment while tying in to one larger story. Bungie just needs a great idea (which we can assume they have at least in some form), a big team (which at this point couldnt possibly surprise me if they have more than 150 workers) and some dedication.
