Hey guys, Please bear with me because I don't know **** about computers, internet and all. Yet, if you can give me some advice I will definitely try to use it to fix this issue, of course. Since a few days (thursday, I think) my upstream bandwidth switched to "Warning". I don't know why this happened and I don't understand. My internet connection has always been good and I didn't change anything that would cause differences. Do you know if there's a way to fix this? I wouldn't really mind having a bad connection at some points because I mostly play customs anyway in Halo Reach (although of course it would be a lot better if I'd be able to get back to Matchmaking again) but the biggest problem is that I can't invite other players to my custom lobbies. Since I like to host lobbies with my friends a lot, as well as hosting BIOC lobbies, this is a pretty huge issue. So please help me if you can, or give me some advice! The current situation pisses me off. EDIT: For your information, my NAT is still open, so that's pretty weird.
Upstream bandwidth, as far as I know, means ****-all. It doesn't affect your connection or anything, I've been playing with mine like that since Reach came out and I've never had problems apart from when my internet goes down and that's nothing to do with upstream bandwidth at all. Just ignore it, it doesn't affect anything. I'm sure someone smarter than me could explain what it mean and stuff but it doesn't affect your online gameplay whatsoever.
But then how come I can no longer invite people to my games? Whenever someone tries to join, after a while it seems to say that they were unable to join. And I think you could be right about the impact on multiplayer, because when my brother plays MW3 everything seems to be fine. I did have one game that seemed to be a bit laggy in Matchmaking, and also one in Customs Games, and both times it was pretty annoying. So I don't know really if it's a problem for my gameplay or not, I haven't played enough games to be able to tell already.
I do remember having some problems joining other people but that's normally due to NAT incompatibility issues, not the upstream bandwidth.
