Also, apparently one of the things I missed in the bonuses for the Legendary/whatever edition, is a Spartan IV Armor Skin. You don't think they just mean a new armor permutation, or are there going to be armor skins in this new game?

If there are, I assume you could pick your armor, your color, and then the pattern/skin that goes over your armor? That's certainly different.

That kinda thing I like. Different textures on the skins. I just hope they don't go OTT (you can't see the red or blue team colours)

I'm gonna cover my spartan in chavy decals, just like NFS Underground!

I'm doubting it, unless it adds a skin of like... damage or something to your armor. Different damaged patterns and whatnot.

Most likely, I think it'll just be an exclusive set of armor, and they used poor wording.

The best part about all this complaining is that almost all of you are going to buy it anyways.

I was thinking about that, but they did say Armor Skin, and I was hoping that they would know enough about their own game to not let that slip past pre-reading.

Has anybody else seen the different patterns in the coloration of different spartan IV's? I'm pretty sure I have.

I am hoping that Armor skins/patterns/whatever won't replace permutations. I would absolutely hate to have to use only the standard armor, or only two or three sets of armor.

They can't do that. There is way too much focus on armor permutations now. They want to seem bigger and better than Reach, so my bet is that there will be more than we had before, with even more options.

Which is exactly what I'm hoping for. I didn't feel like there were enough armor permutations in Reach or Halo 3 to make me feel like my character was any different than anyone elses.

I felt they had a decent number in Reach, but the problem was that everyone gravitated to the same 5 pieces. I hope for a much better looking selection in this game... but I'm hesitant on that, because the default helmet they keep showing is atrocious looking to me.

I'm looking for more diversity in styles than the numbers, though more is always better. And you're right, only a few ever look good and are used.

Still unrelated to how much people play the game... A hot dog stand could sell 3 million hot dogs, that doesn't mean that every other person couldn't have possibly taken a bite, puked, and threw the garbage out. But you are absolutely right, because the game sold a lot when it was being hyped up means that everyone loved it when it was being played, obviously. Pulling up sales statistics for a single month to describe the activity periods over many months has got to be the most flawed and retarded argument I've seen... Just like a large part of Halo Waypoint, I guess you can argue anything as long as you act like everything you say is flawless fact in the most condescending manner possible...

First 7 days of activity of the game's release: doing good, Reach lost to BLOPS, but no big deal

    by November: It's slipping up.

Nope, Black Ops broke sales records, selling 7 million on day one (in Nov) alone, with 59% of that being on Xbox (over 4 million)... From there, it continued being the best seller through December.

    by 2011: Uh huh...

    A few days ago: meh...

I wouldn't argue that; age definitely isn't the only factor and there are many variables. However, quality is still a huge factor that influences most of the variables and accounts for a large amount of the population and to ignore it solely because other variables exist is ridiculous. Throughout Reach's lifespan, it has been losing to games that were older than it by a good year. Even now, Halo 3, a 5 (almost 6) year old game, has about 25% of Reach's population and was able to beat out the new top-selling games at times. If Halo 3 is older than both CoD4 and MW2 and had some victories, I would think that age doesn't hold as much weight as quality; there still are many other variables, but regardless, Halo 3 did what Reach couldn't.

Do you have any idea how punctuation works? Nonetheless, the condescending attitude is a cute touch.

Pac, I'd like to say that you brought up a variety of good points in that response to my post, and I'd also like to apologize; I was reacting quickly and I wasn't really choosing my words carefully. My mistake. Though I would stress that made made frequent use of the first-person to suggest that this was simply my perspective; I acknowledge the abundance of Reach lovers (the Facebook Halo page is pretty near the complete opposite end of the fanbase; and they're far more abundant, I know that).

That being said, I'm going to try and refrain from anymore disappointed discussion of revelations here. This is getting kind of old and no one seems to be persuading anyone of anything.

As for armor customization, I felt Reach was a serious improvement and that many of the helmets worked well with different styles. I liked Mark V (A and B), Mark VI, ODST, CQC and Air Assault the best, but the only two helmets I really disliked aesthetically in Reach were GUNGNIR and EVA (Fishbowls...). I felt that a lot of the shoulders sucked, but the options for decent helmets and armor combinations was seriously larger that that of Halo 3. People just tended to pick the "badass" stuff like EVA [C] and the big Security Shoulder or dual sniper shoulders or other cliche things like that. Not so much the fault of the armory in my eyes.

That being said, let's hope they expand even more on the choices, but instead of it being linear unlocks they should have them be far more independent, with few level requirements on the pieces to encourage diversity, allowing people to pick whichever one they wanted without any silliness like "This is sooo much harder to get" or "I'm a higher rank so I need to use expensive armor". Unlocking everything should take a while for sure, but I don't think individual pieces should be a hike, as that creates elitism and causes a lot of the gravitation toward certain pieces. Structure it a lot like the weapon unlocks seem like they will be structured, except with more to pieces unlock for armor than weapons obviously.

How do you guys think the betrayal system will improve? I hope this fix it where if you get beat down twice an option to boot appears, rather then getting betrayed by a flying vehicle piece, and having the option to boot.

i feel like the accidental betreyal is rare enough thats its probably not worth it to try to fix it. i dont know if they could differentiate between a flying vehicle piece killing you and a teammate deliberately splattering you. if someone gets two betreyals, its very unlikely they were both accidental, so you should have the option to boot.

I think there should be a strict adherence to a three strike policy.

Three strikes can sometimes be a bit much. Usually assholes I meet go for one and just harass afterwards. Two is good for me. Though I have accidentally betrayed two teammates in a Ghost in the same match before, a small number of times actually...

I dunno. I think 2 is fast enough but not too little that it happens accidentally a lot. Anyways, that's what the rarely used forgive option is for.

Yeah, the betrayal system is big crap. I started counting how many times I got the boot option after getting betrayed and it was like 1 out of 10 and then I'd started counting my betrayals and the amount of times I'd get booted which was 3 out of 4. WTF Bungie.
I was playing BTB and there was this asshole who'd start killing us(his teammates) and he had to kill me 3 times for me to give a boot option. I get accidental explosive betrayals which are very rare and yet I always get booted. 343, try to do one good thing for Multiplayer.

Your right, I'll stick to analogies about hot dog vendors and puking. Tell ya what, I'll stop being condescending to you if you acknowledge what the word "most" means and how it is applied to opinions regarding number of people that think as you do. [sub]Extra layers of pretentiousness added on for my amusement of the situation[/sub]

Now, back to our regular scheduled programming. The betrayal system does need quite an overhaul, as well as the leaving a game system. I would favor an approach combining Reach and Halo 3's systems for players leaving. In halo 3, if a player left a game they were penalized pretty harshly through lowered player ranking (which was damn hard to raise). In Reach, there wasn't so much a penalty as you would get banned from MM if you kept doing it. The marriage of ideas would be to bring back the true skill system and penalize a little for quitting but if the player does it multiple times back to back then they get banned so as to not lose a level or multiple levels. helpful)
