Put a button somewhere at the end that activates a flip panel so you can just portal over there incase you die.

If you got to the flip panel and activated it, it would reset upon death anyway, so it'd be hard to implement it well. Or hard to implement it upon an honour system if it were accessible from the start of the test. I may have to look into the Hammer editor so I can put checkpoints in.

Quick question for my fellow test subjects, what's your faverite device (Hard light surfaces, lasers, gels, etc.)? And do you prefer milder or more challenging tests?

I like it when two items are used together to make you solve the challenge.

Ah. forgot about that. Derpity. Take the water out and make a pit, that makes you go back to the top of one side?

Yeh, I might edit it to do that then. But won't be for a couple of days, not able to get on any games for a bit due to having a visitor with me at the moment, and it would be rude of me to sit here playing games while she is sitting there watching me. I'll post a message here when I've eventually changed it around.

I might make the pit have a Faith Plate in there, but the pit itself is covered by a fizzler, just to be an asshole. ;)
I just use whatever device I feel is relevant for the situation or what gets an idea for a puzzle done. I seem to have a bit of a preference for Angled and Flip Panels though. As for the difficulty, I try to make them challenging but not so challenging that you don't want to finish the puzzle. I've yet to make an extremely think-y puzzle yet, but I've got a few ideas that may eventuate soon.

Got another puzzle done. This one's a bit more challenging than my others, but you should be able to beat it.

I've also changed Multi-Chamber Scenario as well, to make the last puzzle a bit easier. Enjoy!

And yet another puzzle done. I'm pumpin' these things out like... like... things that get pumped out quickly!

I haven't played Portal for a while, should probably get back into it. I was messing around with some concepts in Hammer for a while, but they haven't really eventuated. Might have to get back onto that, too. Does anyone else use Hammer here?
