To be fair, Minecraft runs in an amazingly inefficient way (on Java), so it takes up a lot of memory a game built on a real engine wouldn't.

I'm not getting it because I can't run D3 at all.

I've seen gameplay, and it looks like an adult version of RuneScape with better graphics. I'll admit, I never played Diablo or Diablo II, but I don't get what all the hype is about.

What are your specs? I'll be stuck playing on MBP because my Alienware is out of commission and I don't think I'll be building a new one this summer anymore. I was only rocking the beta at an average of 17 fps lol with reduced (not lowest) settings. I have a 2.4 i5 with 4 gig of ram and intel HD 3000. However, despite being at only listed 17 fps, it looked and felt perfectly fine so I was confused. SCII runs at 30 for me, 20 when heated battles go down and I can notice some drops there but I didn't in D3 at all. I may just chalk it up to being a beta. I think I'm gonna upgrade my ram to 8gigs though so I can dedicate 512 to my video instead of the stock 384 the HD 3000 uses.

This is the only time I've ever looked back on the crazy Qosmio that was on sale when I bought my MBP. As far as a general use lappy goes, I've loved this far more than any PC I had (sorry Alienware, love you too) but D2 was my game back in the day. It's a tough call, I never used my alienware enough for gaming to make it worth the price but I played more D2 than every game from last gen combined ten times over.

I'm getting it. Actually I already bought it. I was too late to get my hands on a Collector's Edition, so I'm stuck with the standard. I've been waiting for this game for the past decade.

@RST: If you played the other two, you'd understand the hype. It's nothing like Runescape, not one bit. You're not a *****, you don't have a damn cooking level. And it's not turn-based combat. That's like comparing Halo: Reach to Madden 2010.

I thought about tackling that but I decided not to lol.

D2 is my favorite game of all time. The character customization and loot is beyond amazing and it's perfection in dungeon crawling, with a level of addiction but streamlined like nothing else.

D3 won't be as good for sure. But D2 was always improving and D3 will as well. It's just a perfect match of addiction without convolution. Grinding at its finest.

Why can't D3 be as good? Just curious.

Ask Chris. I played the D3 Beta and thought it was amazing. I can't wait to waste the next three years on it.

Once again, I was just saying that I didn't get the hype. I wasn't personally attacking anyone interested in the game, or the game itself for that matter.

I get that, yeah. It seems to be a big nostalgia trip for a lot of people.

Top down, click to move, click to attack, top down, same style armor/jewelry system. They are very much alike in basic game structure, though one is admittedly much, much deeper and more complicated.

    hmm....

Neither is Runescape, it's a click and attack. Though, from the gameplay I've watched, it seems that you have to click on each enemy every time you want to attack, instead of just clicking on them and attacking until they're dead or you cancel, like in Runescape.

    Uhm, no, not really.

Hard to recreate perfection. There are little things I don't like such as only 6 hotkey skills, no skill points skills unlock at a given level, no stat points, no runewords. Builds had a bit more customization and structure in D2, now you'll be able to switch things up easily without making a new char. However, it's the initial build and runewords and synergies didn't come into effect until patch 1.10 which was a while after release for D2. Also not a fan of the way PVP is shaping up, though it's currently cut from the launch build. Edit: oh and only 4 players in a game rather than 8. People have been claiming it's the console factor (prepping the game to be launched on consoles down the road).

@RST: There isn't the dice rolling DnD style here. You can swing away at the air and lead launch missile attacks. It allows for a bit more real time strategy as opposed to focusing largely on your numbers game. Ultimately, it's more fun.

Fair enough then. Honestly, I haven't looked much at the game. I loved both previous games and pretty much bought the third one on impulse. I remember playing the games and coming back every other year after or so. It was such an awesome game that I couldn't pass up on the third iteration.

I like the fact that I don't know a whole lot about it though. It'll make the game feel really fresh when I start to play it, which is the main reason I skipped out on all the beta opportunities.
