Why not just wait for the console editor? Edit: disregard that. I remember when they originally announced it, they said it was for console and because they already had 2 editing programs for it on computer, i figured that ferther supported that fact. But apparently they changed their minds. :/
Yeh, there won't be any kind of editor on the consoles it's been released on. Exactly my sentiments. I own both on 360, but I may end up purchasing it through Steam just for the chance to create levels, and just to see how my ****ed up mind works.
My question is why did they make this for computer if they already have 2 other map making programs on steam for this? That's just counter productive.
Portal 2's editor will probably focus more on the puzzle side of maps, letting people make levels which will actually function properly. But wow, a year later? I was expecting a lot of user content from Portal 2, thats why I got it on PC.
After it sat in the corner for about three months after I got stuck on one course, I finally beat Portal 2 at about 1:30 in the morning yesterday. Huzzah.
^nice response Xun. So I'm thinking that Portal will be my new outlet of map creating for a while. Once this all is launched anyone can feel free to have me test their maps, as we should be helping each other. Got to love Valve.
So the map authoring update came out today. I spent a couple hours messing around in it and made a 'lil something. Steam Workshop :: First Attempt at a Test Chamber Not exactly a mindbending puzzle, but 'twas fun to build.
Some idiot was trolling, so I posted a textless "not sure if trolling" Fry pic. Obviously someone deleted the idiot's post, and the pic link was changed or something.
Portal 2 is only 7 bucks on Steam right now, only today. I went ahead and bought it Map maker, here I come. DD
My god.....I was halfway through the second to last chapter a few months back when I played Portal often, and I just got on today and I'm at the beginning of Chapter 2. Guess I wont be beating this game because I find little reply value in the Portal series.
Missing out on one of the greatest games this gen. The humor alone is worth a replay. Also, those last 2 chapters you missed out on... they ****ing rock.
I hate motivation. Regardless, I may try to finish it, I may not. I'm on Chapter 5 now and it hasn't been all too enjoyable for me. I know how to solve all the puzzles already and I feel as though I'm just wasting time.
If you know how to do all the puzzles then you aren't wasting much time. It's a short game as it is, even shorter if you're experienced. It'll take you 2-3 hours tops to get to the end from chapter 5.
hahahaha Sir, I believe I did, in fact, see what you attempted to do there. I've been wanting to make a story-based mod for this game since I beat it. Anyone know how to code that's interested in helping? D:
Just wondering. Why can I find this game nowhere? It is as if the game is no longer able to be retrieved by any Gamestop, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc... in my entire state ever since the game was out for a week. :O
It's such a good game. Buy it on steam. Free DLC + Map Maker + Awesomesauce + Play with Bloo (♥) + ???? = profit
I literally bought this a week ago, I went to six different stores, I finally found it at a local, non-chain game store. Ridiculous.
I would, but my PC has TERRIBAD specs (and could barely run Portal 2 on the lowest settings when I tried it) and I really don't want to be cluttering up my work computer with games.
