so the worlds are soo small it takes 3 minutes to walk to the broder of the world, which mean invisible wall. probably mean its a 1000x1000 world at biggest.
Well I mean Mojang COULD eat up some of the well known modders or possibly integrate some of the more popular mod packs such as the technic pack. The chances of that are extremely unlikely though. Now if they were to integrate kinect with it, I would be one happy man. Punching trees gives me wood.
I don't know if Mojang have very much to do with the development of this version. It seems to me that it's out of their hands. Personally I don't give a **** about mods, at least in this version. If I want to use a certain mod I'll play on the PC, if I want to play in comfort and with friends I'll play on xbox. I'm not happy about that small world size though. I don't understand how an xbox can run BF3 and not generate at least a few kilometers cubed sized voxel arena.
Even more so, it's in 8-bit and is less complex than games such as BF3 and Skyrim. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I know but I'm somehow a little iffy about it unless i have this. For some reason, that little bit of info seemed to slip my mind... ah well. It may constitute a buy from me but the "no modding" is a major turnoff.
Best thing about the X360 version: It's doesn't have shitty Java as it's engine. I swear, Minecraft needs to be re-written in another code rather than written in Java. Java whores up so much memory for Simple things. [br][/br]Edited by merge: They will probably add something like the File Share from Halo, except the Modders would either have to design the mod in the Xbox, or port the mods in from their computer, which could be a problem. They will probably take the most popular mods (Yogbox, Planes mod) and remake/port them into the X360 version.
Lol, while possible, far from probable. Or else it would be the first of it's kind in existence to do so. A file share would allow for the sharing of content, not the creation of it. You can't "mod" internally as you wouldn't be able to make the code and then compile it from within the game. As far as integrating popular mods, "popular" is subjective and hundreds of mods could be "popular". Something like the pistons mod that had a following for pretty much the entire time Minecraft was around was needed before that was integrated into the PC version. My point is simply, don't expect such things to be likely. Best case scenario is optimization mods fans make get eventually adapted into dlc content (which again, no such thing as "mods" for a console unless you crack it open).
Apparently the game does ship with a variety of Texture Packs. I assume more would be downloadable in the future. This. Although, it does make me wonder how successful a giant TNT explosion would fare. My thoughts are that it will be a helluva lot better, but probably still sketchy. However, if there's no lag with such a thing then I'll never play MC on PC again...
My god I can't wait. I heard somethings will be added after launch, like pistons, so don't expect everything at once.
Current Super-Project: Castle. Basically I'm experimenting with different styles of building rather than just loads of flat plain walls. To give you a sense of scale, when I'm stood in the middle of the 4 walls, You can just about make out each of the four walls on the furthest render distance. The four corner towers are just out of range and appear as grey outlines. One of four corner towers: Gates in each wall: Towers in the middle of the walls to break them up a bit: AS the project continues I'll post more updates.
Anyone using PowerCraft? I'm trying to run a normal survival game and work my way up to making a factory.
Currently playing on Glacier like a boss. Super reminiscent. Especially since at the point that I played on glacier I still used the default texture pack.
