I remember when I mentioned Redline having amazing animation way way back in this thread (or it might've been another before this) and you were all like "lol anime having good animation" and I was like "shut up *****, watch it before you judge it" and it went back and forth for a few seconds and I was like "good times." good times.
I apologize for not reading every post, but there is a lot of posts in this thread.... But whether its been mentioned before or not.... Hell Girl(Jigoku Shōjo) is a really good anime. It has a really good melancholy and psychological theme. I absolutely loved it.
Well, now that you put it that way, I guess its the same for every other movie adaption (Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, etc.). Thanks for explaining it clearer. Aaaanyway, finished the first episode of Motto To Love-Ru, and boy is it different from the first season. There's new characters, different stories, hell, even new animation. Speaking of new characters, I don't know how Celine or these two pink-haired girls found their way into the series. That's just me, I haven't read the manga.
Usually the case of Anime v. Manga is that manga is almost always planned out from the beginning, so every little thing is crucial to both the pacing of the story, but also how things will ultimately end up. Usually when an ongoing anime catches up to where the manga is, it means you will get filler episodes or the anime will begin to diverge from the original. Other cases are when the anime is essentially a Hollywood production of a book (the example of Harry Potter, Hunger Games, etc.) One such anime like this would be Fullmetal Alchemist. They remedied their mistake by releasing FMA: Brotherhood, which followed the manga much more closely. While the first series was good in its own right, Brotherhood and the manga just had a ton more planning into the story, which just made it enjoyable for the entirety of it since it got the proper build-up to the ending.
Momo and Nana are the twin sisters of Lala and like Lala they run away from their home planet to be with their sister. Celine was given to Rito by Lala as a birthday present. Hands up if you think Celine is by far the cutest anime character ever! o/
In my opinion, there are a few cases where the anime is better than the manga such as Toradora, Samurai Champloo, and maybe Death Note. o/
Alright heres a question, has anyone here read "Welcome to the NHK!"? I hear the novel is pretty good and i dont know anything about the manga
If you mean by cute as in something you don't want to stop cuddling and want to sort of simulate as your own kid, then yes \o.
Out of the first six episodes of Cowboy Bebop, I can say ep. 5 is the only one I've really liked so far. The first 4 seem to have hardly any relation to the main plot at all, except part of the first one. There were some head scratchers, like why do they let faye join them after what happened or why the hell is spike trying to open that thing without knowing what it is in ep. 4. Aside from his Bruce Lee-esque moves, I'm surprised he survives because he is a terrible bounty hunter lol. Having said that, I'm glad I didn't stop after the first four episodes because it looks like it might be great after all. I love the style of the art and the music, ****in love it Also, For those interested in One Piece this link shows the filler episodes, which can help you knock out over 100 episodes. OP features a deep storyline with an action anime style similar to dragonball/dbz. but it feels more real IMO because it captures emotions so much better (death for example *shakes fist at dbz) . The show revolves around its many characters (major and minor) and their "treasures" (metaphor for what's important to them). Its an manga/anime about pirates but an even better story about life, showing countless sides of humanity and whats important to us. You never know which of the hundreds of characters will become important for whatever reason and the magnitude of everything is increased with each person the crew meets. Unlike dbz, it isnt super villain after super villain, and anyone can neutralize anyone. Someone you could write off as a non factor could have a devil fruit ability (a fruit that gives you certain qualities/powers) that is a rubber to someone's glue (anyone cwutididthar?). I'm not trying to pick on dbz but I felt the comparison was appropriate because there were things that db/dbz failed on that OP did so much better IMO. Also, it's refreshing that I've seen over 500 episodes of an anime about pirates and I haven't heard the phrase "arrrg, matey".
To be honest with you dude, I don't think there are more than 2 or 3 episodes that have any sort of connecting plot in the whole over all series. There might be a few two or three parters but as for the general storyline of the series, I don't really see one unless it's Spike meeting with that woman that explains the opening scene.
the main plot of the show is these four characters in this world living their lives and crossing over with each other with a focus on spike, pretty much every episode develops a character a bit more. There are also constant nods to the show's insanely poetic ending. It will all make sense Bows.
OP UPDATE: Added this as some people are getting dangerously close to giving away certain details about shows that others may not have seen.
Agreed. Orange, I haven't read the manga adaption for it, but I heard it was less censored with things like cigarettes being replaced with cocaine lines and such. In the case with Bebop, most of the episodes really don't connect. You could watch episode 15 before episode 12 and not notice that you did so. It's the same with Samurai Champloo.
I did hear that is was a lot more dark, I'm thinking about reading it. The episodes don't really ever tie in, there may be a few key moments that connect to each other every episode, but you don't really need to pay attention to them. It all gets summed up later on, and you'll start to realize that everything isn't for nothing. I love the last episode.
It was a good way to conclude the series, but I hated the ending. Top 25 Anime Characters Spoiler 1. Goku 2. Astro Boy 3. Speed Racer (lolwut?) 4. Spike Spiegel 5. Himura Kenshin 6. Naruto Uzumaki 7. most animes ive seen, or even shows in general, are all made so viewers can jump in at any time and enjoy it. stand alone episodes arent necessarily a bad thing. it's filler that bogs shows down, i ****en hate filler. if something explores a key character or gives you a better idea of what makes them tick, it leads to some solid material. Edited by merge: BEBOP SPOILERS INCOMING. Spoiler ahah hated it in a being pissed spike is probably dead way? i hated that aspect too, but his star fading out brought everything full circle. All of a sudden you realize Spike got away with some insane near-death **** because he was meant for something else. Meant to tie up loose ends from his past. comments like "Maybe this is the one... the one I won't come back from..." throughout the show (in totally stand alone episodes at that) all point to his end. i say end, but it is open ended, thats just what i take from it.
Kid: A star just fell from the sky. Laughing Bull: That is not an ordinary star, my son. That star is the tear of a warrior. Kid: What warrior is it? Laughing Bull: A lost soul who has finished his battles somewhere on this planet. A pitiful soul who could not find his way to the lofty realm where the great spirit awaits us all.
