    mostly just game mechanics problems

Basically, I want to make shields behave like health (so that the AZombie can use Armor Lock)

Im trying to recreate the mechanics of the Ubermorph from Dead Space using a %500 damage resistance, and Armor Lock to simulate its "regeneration"

Any Ideas on how I could do this? (e.g. speed, damage, etc.),
Also, is it possible to give new zombies different AAs W/O overriding the one given to the AZombie? (when I give zombies sprint, the AA of the Azombie also changes)

This could be a bit tricky, but if I'm trying to understand it correctly you want shield regeneration to only be triggered by armor lock? The trouble there is that I'm not sure if setting shield regen rate to 0% will disable that. If it doesn't, there's your solution right there; just keep the setting to "normal shields" so they don't automatically decay to the base layer and/or any overshields just won't appear (you can't respawn with overshields, only base shields). If not, I'm not sure what will work; still, there may be an alternative approach...

Shield regeneration rate only applies to the first/primary/base/whatever layer of shielding; overshields always regen at the same rate (provided regen is not set to 0%, you need some regen to kickstart the overshield layers). If the rate is set to 10%, the base layer will regen really slow; once the base layer is full, the overshields will pop up in a matter of seconds. This effect (in addition to turning the damage resistance down a bit) would be passive instead of active, but could possibly work for your plans and have a similar effect. Presuming it's the alpha zombie in this case, the alpha would have to run & hide for a bit (or be good at evading fire) instead of using armor lock for their shields to regen.

And just as a side note, the nature of overshield regen requiring more than 0% is due to the fact they'll decay (to the base layer) otherwise. You can give someone layers of overshields with no regen using respawn settings to temporarily give them regen for a few seconds (and the extra layers are included, or at least not excluded, in the respawn settings); and provided they don't lose their shields completely once the respawn settings wear off, the overshield layers will decay to the base layer.

Absolutely, just use the alpha zombies gametype. The alphas and the spawns can be as different as you want.... though I'm not certain the respawn settings can be separated.

Anyhow, I hope that was helpful.

In DS, when you dismember the Ubermorph, it remains immobile while it regenerates, what I was thinking is that i could simulate this by using the armor lock function to a. immobilize the player and b.give the player time to recharge his health
It was not until later that I found out that armor lock only works If you have shields, but I think I solved that problem now, Your advice is defiantly helpful though, just one question, If you do play Dead Space, any settings I can include in the (Alpha)AZombie type to make it more... Ubermorphy?
