Hey! Like Chess? Like Halo? Then you can sign up for the Halo Chess Tournament this coming weekend from 7-9 PM EST on Friday and Saturday. Depending on how many people participate (10 recommended) people involved, that is how many chess rounds there will be. (5 if 10 people join.) When the tournament board fills, I will randomize the players into the brackets. The winner gets a cookie, ultimate bragging rights, and (if you have a PC/Mac and Steam (PC Game Platform) some free **** on Steam! Sign up now! EDIT: So far we have about 7(ish) participants. You generally want the number of participants to be some multiple of two for a single elimination bracket to work. It makes it not only easier, but more fair.
Probably this coming weekend, on Friday we can have three matches, on Saturday we can have the last two.
I'll play if you can get enough people. But 10 people doesn't equal 5 rounds if you are planning a single elimination tournament
How will this all work seeing as there isn't really a check/checkmate system in the Halo Chess gametype? Also, If it's EST on Saturday, I might not be here due to an end of semester piss-up. We'll see.
