I was aiming my comment more at Oli than Cluck. I know that forge being in it was kinda obvious without being stated and I saw that other people already linked it, but I was just trying to mainly put the time it was stated at. It's in the game, that's all that matters
spartan ops makes sense. its not that theyre trying to sound like cod, its just that both are using the logical name. operations is the only name i can think of for short, objective heavy missions. being executed by spartans. spartan operations. i dont see how this a crappy name.
C'mon man, there has to be a hundred other fitting names. Using "ops" deliberately calls to mind Spec Ops (and Black Ops). Don't think for a second that isn't intentional.
I was just to insipid to go back to a previous page to hit the quote button, so I used a random, current page comment that was relevant. Buuut in hindsight it would have been faster to have used the appropriate quote. I'm pretty happy that 343i explained all the new edition more in depth and that forge will be in the game. Makes me more optimistic about this game. Hopefully we are given something new next wednesday.
That video made me facepalm so many times. Not that new info was present but it just shows how hardcore the casuals are in control of Halo 4. "I think everyone really liked sprint, so 343 wanted to give it to everyone" No. Reach was just ****ing slow and all the other AAs were gay so we were forced to take sprint. Edit: also love that at like 1120 they cut twice to follow a girl joggin in the background (so it looks lol)

That video is just not watchable for me. Not because of how bad multiplayer is coming out to be, but it's the fact that they got some really really ugly guys to sit in front if a camera and talk about it.
Cause you know, once a word has been chosen it is locked off from all future iterations of anything. Does the name really matter? Firefight = horde mode yet no one had a problem with that. The only thing that matters is if the mode is enjoyable.
Yeah but Firefight wasn't called horde mode, it was called Firefight. With Spartan Ops, they're not even pretending it's something different.
Which is a shame, because it IS different. If they're telling an episodic multiplayer story and do it right, that idea is leagues better than MW3's shitty Spec Ops mode. They could have called it Operation Mode, Infinity Missions, Infinity Ops, UNSC Campaign, Infinity Campaign (which fits, because the idea is to make a Campaign that doesn't end) and that's just off the top of my head. We should make a video where we sit on a park bench and talk about how shitty all the details they've told us about the game are. We could even get Chuck to jog in the background.
Even Infinity Ops sounds better than Spartan Ops. Spartan Points and Spartan Ops just sound so.. cheesy? Kinda like lets milk the word spartan for all its worth. Imagine if firefight was called SpartanFight. It just sounds so artificial and crappy. EDIT: quicktime events are in, and the plasma rifle is not. I don't know which one of those i'm more pissed off about. What will the elites hold now?
Why do people keep talking about this as if it's something new? Medals are now shown a second earlier after game, woot.... huge difference. As for which medals you earn and the amount of medals you earn giving you more points, has no one played Reach? The number of credits you earn in a game of Reach is directly related to the medals, notice how when you get a medal, a number like +7 flashes up in the bottom right? What the hell did you think that was? It's literally the same system as Reach but credits are now called Spartan Points. They've likely increased the weighting that medals themselves have in how many SPs you get, but the basic idea is nothing new, and frankly I'm surprised how no one has noticed this.

I thought that you earn credits and that for every 10,000 or so you get a "Spartan Point" that you can use to unlock one thing. That's how I interpreted it anyway. I hate to cling to the past but Halo 3 had **** down-pat. Vehicles were useful, field of view was a perfect 60 degrees, no fall damage or "fall stun", power-ups in multiplayer, CTF was fun, they didn't try to "iron out" skill gaps, maps weren't designed around the premise that players could fly everwhere, e.c.t. Reach was the quirky "making a halo game without the chief so all bets are off" game. I hate that they're sticking blindly to all the shitty changes that got made.
