Do you expect us to talk about the game or the comedy skit?

He's going to be on a spaceship with a marine voiced by conan. If you watched the video, that shouldn't have been too confusing. Though I doubt the marine will actually look like conan

Have you seen the Conan video? For the first time you get a full gameplay clip of someone BRing someone, and it's sounds terrible. But as someone said previously, try probably just turned down to audio so you could hear Conan speaking over it..

I get this, when I'm sprinting and being shot at, it sometimes goes all spazzy and keeps switching between sprinting and normal movement fairly fast.

But I think this'd be a good idea to implement, it would prevent people (like me) who run off at the first sign of trouble if they're likely to lose.

So, any speculation on the plot? What will happen to Cortana? Etc?

I feel the same thing sometimes, but it's not consistent. I've never tried to test it to figure out what's happening. It seems to mostly come up if I try to sprint just as someone is shooting me - occasionally it's like if the two things happen simultaneously, it just cancels my sprint.

I sincerely hope that dialog is in the final game if you stand around them long enough.

You can replicate that twitchy in-and-out of Sprint thing if you jump at the moment you press Sprint, could be what you guys are experiencing?

I'm slightly worried about this idea of getting shot slowing down movement. If it's only with regard to Sprint then that's great, a fantastic way to counter the fleeing problem with it, but if it applies to all movement then that's gonna make pretty much every encounter suck balls. Try coming back from shots down if them getting the first hit on you puts them at a further advantage by meaning you strafe slower etc., not gonna happen.

It only applies to sprint, David Ellis confirmed this on NeoGAF.

Fantastic, then it's a great idea. I can actually see the competitive community being much more open to Sprint if it's useful for being aggressive but not so useful for running away.

Also, someone on MLG put the brief snatch of BR footage in to a .gif so you can dissect it to your heart's content:

Doesn't look like there's aim acceleration, or at least no more than there is in Reach, which is great. Also the strafe looks more responsive than Reach, when the red guy lands after jumping then strafes to the right, it looks pretty quick. And sorry, but I still think that new BR model is uber sexy.

Wait, people are hating on the BR model? I like it.

I like everything about that clip except for the admittedly anemic sound of the weapon, which could (for various reasons) be nothing like what it sounds like in-game. All the stuff you pointed out is good, and the graphics are beautiful.

Yeah people speculated that the sound was turned down or muted so you could hear the dialogue (for want of a better word). Honestly I don't really care if it does end up sounding like a BB gun, it's never really bothered me, though I don't actively like it.

Also, it seems like the jump height is H3-esque but with gravity closer to that of Reach. If I'm right, that'll keep me very happy, as the main thing I dislike about H3 jump in retrospect is the floatiness. Having a jump height great enough to Shanon people but not staying in the air long enough to go and make a sandwich will be a great balance imo, can't wait to see how all of this feels.

I think its the lack of bass and depth that I don't like about it. I dunno, it doesen't sound very beefed up. Oh yes, and according to the sparkcast the BR must be unlocked. And movement speed is increased from reach.

And this sums up my feelings for the way the game is being produced.

Yeah I know, kinda worrying. Hopefully that's more of a visual oversight rather than being indicative of huge hitboxes or significant bullet magnetism.

EDIT - Your concern is the reticule being red, yes? I could be wrong but it looks to me (Watching it in real time) like the thing just stays red for a fraction of a second after you pull it off target - the switch isn't instantaneous. Watching how the actual shots land, nothing seems ridiculous. Of course, our sample size here is beyond tiny...

Or just poor netcoding. Or deliberatly large hitboxes to appeal to casuals. Seems the way that 343 want their game. Big sounds and warnings on the radar when weapons drop.

Also, where is this BS I am hearing about PRE ALPHA FOOTAGE ITS NOT TRUE ITS GOING TO BE AMAZING EVERYTHING NEGATIVE IS INVALID!

    ?

They did say "we have had online running for some time now" and the liklihood is that that gameplay is offline on LAN. And also that the game is in "crunch," i.e. assets are done, campaign is done and just needs a polish, maps need creating, voices need recording.

Everything that occurs in these gameplay snippets we see seems to scream out instant gratification. Three medals for one kill, then text for nearly 10 seconds reminding us of how well we are doing. Plus loadouts can be changed during gameplay and when alive.
