Yeah, if they actually get a proper matchmaking system implemented (And by proper, I mean working), the game will be a hell of a lot funner for everyone.
I question if it's even possible. The system worked a lot better than H3 than in Reach, on paper, but people found how to get around it - the infamous "second account." You see a lot less of those in Reach because there's no longer any point, but they were an epidemic in H3. At least a quarter of the time if you saw a low-ranked guy in a game, you had no idea if he was legitimately low-ranked or just a new account with a very experienced player behind it who wanted to abuse "noobs." Other people would lose matches on purpose (hiding, going AFK, or betraying) to drag down their perceived skill level and allow them to spend their serious games beating up people far worse than them. All in service of the almighty k/d.
NeoGAF - View Single Post - Halo |OT2| Hyper-Athletic Speed And Mass And Weight and Power I found this interesting. I hope what he says is true. What do you guys think?
You **** teasing ass! I thought that was a link to something new and worth reading. Got my bloody hopes up.
The 343 Plan. Plan A: Release all details to Game Informer and hope people will like it. Plan B: Nobody liked it. Tell them everything is all right. Plan C: Blame Game Informer.
So supposedly the composer will finally be revealed tomorrow. I don't really care, but I thought some of you guys might.
I think it's quite funny, the went on and on about how it was staying "True to the Halo formula", then they release all this information to Game Informer and wonder why they have to furiously back pedal because nobody liked it. They basically lied out the ass to us before revealing everything, and then released information that went against they had ever said as a game developer.
Dude, Chrs doesn't work at 343. I wouldn't mind if they were giving us some sort of concrete information. Right now, Frankie's trying to ominous and myterious with his "All is not as it seems...woooooh I'm a ghost" bullshit. If they would relieve our fears as opposed to building upon them with wonky secrecy, there wouldn't be a problem. The sooner we get some freaking gameplay, the better.
Honestly I don't think they should have said anything. Do all your information dumps via bulletins and vidocs like Bungie used to do. Releasing this quantity of information and to a nonaffiliated publication before your company releases any details is a recipe for disaster.
Its so true its sad... You'd think a massive corporate entity like M$ would have had a little bit of foresight on this now, wouldn't ya?
lol didn't you say this last night? I'm pretty excited for any new information no matter how small or big it may be. I guess that's just the obsession speaking. I don't agree with the direction they're going, but I do believe it will be fun regardless.
Bu bu bu but.... Frankie said like seven years ago that Marty was wrapping up the music for H4... It was in the video that what's-his-face posted.
Am I one of the only ones who agrees with Neo on this? Sure, a lot of these changes are fun, but I'm hating the stereotype that all casual players are whiny 6 year olds who enjoy spending all their halo time playing dino blasters. I see myself as casual since I enjoy to play creative games that stray a bit from the run-of-the-mill Slayer. Yes, a ton of casuals are annoying prepubescent kids, but many just want to have fun. And by fun I don't mean "OMG Superman vision pl0x!". Just don't throw all casuals under the bus.
