Fair enough. I'm curious whether "spartan ops" missions would be on campaign maps or be entirely different scenarios.
From what I read, it seems that they're brand new, which seems a tad ambitious (even for a AAA title) but maybe they're just giving us a ton of bang for our buck. Either way, I'm happy to have more story in the game, especially if it effectively doubles the total amount.
So I presume the intention then would be to give players actual story incentive to co-op as opposed to just controlling multiple characters for the same single player story. It would be neat if the two modes, single player and ops mode, interacted then. Like if you were playing single player and because you did some mission in the ops mode you heard some marines talking about it and it made your job in the single player mission easier.
What I'm worried about is what will happen with gameplay if people can spawn with their own weapons that would make forged maps very fail and custom games a derp. I understand there won't be anybody spawning in with a rL or anything but imagine infection with dmrs. I hope there is a option to turn that off.
I'd like that too, kinda like the mass effect approach to storytelling (since you could pick up missions by listening to pedestrians, or even just clues about where to go really). But I don't think that'll happen, at least not on a scale past maybe easter egg. From what I understand, the Infinity crosses MC's path (presumably in campaign) so it's likely co-op will deal with that intersection somehow. That being said, I'd love it if the missions were against space pirates or defiant colonies or something like the books (but that's very very doubtful).
As of right now i'm assuming 'spartan ops' is going to be more or less like 'spec ops' and 'spartan points' are going to be just like 'credits'.
I suppose I am coloring what the mode would most likely be like with how Mass Effect is. I have played the ME series a lot lately. Some things I think would transfer over very well. Such as ME3 multiplayer feature of having objectives to do. That could be a neat thing that would transfer over nicely to a Halo co-op mission. That way there is investment by all parties involved and it isn't just multiple people playing essentially a single player story.
Yeah I get that. Since I played ME1 I've been saying they handled the "ancient spacefaring race" thing (in their case protheans) exactly how I would've wanted Halo to handle it. ME1's entire last portion was like Halo 3, story-wise, and I couldn't stop saying "man I wish Halo 3 had gone out like this."
I heard that the Spartan Ops mode would tie in to multiplayer. In Spartan Ops you would play as your multiplayer spartan. And any upgrades you have in multiplayer would carry over.
Halo music has always been great, most Video Game music hasnt reached it's scale- though I must admit the music of halo all sounds too damn similar to me. Wonder if 343 will be changing that too? Might be nice to hear something new in Halo rather than a remix of CE music.
On another note, I came across an interesting thread from waypoint. Basically he came up with the theory that the Infinity will be the forge world for halo 4. Sounds like the perfect idea.
Yes click that sounds amazing and since it's able to generate scenery ,terrain and environments from scratch that would be perfect imagine if we could essentially build our own forge world obviously on a smaller scale but we could manipulat hills etc rivers etc that would be amazing very interesting nice find
Yeah I heard that one it gets me bonerfied to hear the rest because tbh it sounds great and it DOSENT sound like anything we've heard in a previous halo game
