Sadly there is proof all over. The person who said it all has a video on YouTube of him WITH the magazine He flips to the cover and shows us it IS in fact gameinformer and shows us the article Also I've seen scans online for almost the whole 14 page article...no way this is fake. I don't think 343 would show GameInformer something they didnt THINK was final That does not however prove that 343 won't listen and change it (however doubtful that is)
I do get the feeling this is all being blown way out of proportion. Think back to the video clips we saw of multiplayer. The only sad thing to see there was sprint punching, every other clip looked like good ol fashioned Halo to me (or close enough). I can imagine Microsoft is pushing them hard to do all the wrong things for the game, but I've got faith that Frankie will pull through in the end. But, if they do actually have a lot of these COD esque features, we're letting them know in advance that it's not going over well and hopefully give them enough time to work this stuff out.
It could be possible that 343i showed GI the stuff they expected the fans to flip out about in hope to get a strong negative reaction that they could use to tell M$ to back the f*** off and let 'em make the game as they deem fit.
You got to remember they only showed us 10 second of footage... How many sad things can one see in ten seconds of non complete gameplay?
Let's not forget the whole Active Roster/Custom Loadouts thing from the Reach Beta. People went manic about roughly the same thing from roughly the same amount of information.
I still don't see why there needs to be a reason or story behind multiplayer. So none of the locations you fight in will be 'real'? They're simulations? So I'm playing a video game as a character who is playing a much more immersive video game?
Actually, all of this that they are talking about with the Spartan IVs is what has me actually excited about this game, despite all of the things that might be negatives. Multiplayer is just their training sessions, but then you actually get to take your Spartan out into the real world in spartan ops. It actually kind of give you the feeling that you are a character that you can create and evolve. Unfortunately, this gives them an excuse to allow you to unlock guns and abilities and whatnot to make your character better

It's gonna take a lot to calm these nerves. As far as I'm concerned, they just buried the franchise. We're never gonna get a Halo game like HCE or H2 ever again. Congratulations to all the casual kids. You helped kill this beloved franchise. I hope your happy.
