You're right, if she looks more human it would mess with her "snarky pixie-in-your-ear" motif. But Cortana is hard to nail visually, and that is just a magazine cover after all. I thought Bungie had the look down in Halo 3.
I do think the 3 cortana was great. Less doll, more character shown through her figure. Halo 2 looked like something out of thriller, and Halo 4 is just too OTT
As shuman pointed out oli a few posts ago, all those cortana pics are in game. That was concept art. You keep assuming soooo much with so little.
You don't have to jump on every piece of speculation with "NOPENOPENOPE YOU AINT PLAYED IT, BRAH". The game isn't out yet, no matter how stupid something sounds, there's always a chance it's true. Let people speculate, otherwise this is going to be boring as ****. And I'd love if Cortana played a much more...characterized...role in Halo 4. She has always been my favourite character.
Speculation is fine but then the language around it needs to be speculative not absolute. If I don't see the words "if", "possibly", "maybe", etc when forming an opinion on little evidense then I will assume the person has some insider knowledge about the situation.
Tbh you can tell if somebody is speculating based on what is said. Or just ask where they got the information from. And it did take me a bit to realise that that was concept art. I did write that in my post. Nontheless I doubt 343 would realise things that were not final or near to final in game items, concept art or otherwise. What is the point in revealing cortana like that if it turns out they abandoned that piece of concept art and she is now invisible or green? Exaggerating, of course, but that's my point. There would be no sense in releasing nowhere near truthful information. Let people say whatever and if you're confused, it's hardly much effort to ask.
I'm a little late to the argument but I really like the flood. They are a fun enemy to fight except for a few of the special ones. The Library was only a bad level because it was so repetitive. Cortana would have been a fine level IMO if the shooty flood things never existed. That said, I would be okay with the Flood not being in Halo 4 for story purposes. Halo 3 Cortana is the best Cortana IMO.
First, my responses were directed toward Oli's posts, not yours. Second, you're making the mistake of confusing images made to draw attention from relavant information made to inform people of some new thing. There were plenty of stylized magazine cover art made for halo ce, halo 2, 3, etc. So why hold this one to some weird standard? Finally, I'm more likely to believe cortana will look like how she did in the E3 trailer. She was only shown for a few seconds and from the side but what I could see she didn't seem to have the epic boobage depicted in the picture, nor all those lines on her body. Sure that was a teaser trailer in which loads of assets could have changed since then but it is also likely that the E3 trailer could be an exerpt from an opening cinematic.

I never directly quoted Oli. Neo's first response in this arument was telling me to ease up on Oli, so the subject was always in reference to that. In my last response I was talking directly to neo saying I wasn't referring to what he said about cortana but what Oli said. I'm really not seeing the confusion here. I quoted the person who was arguing with me about a different person.
we haven't even seen the h4 cortana yet, i dunno why everyone is judging her appearance based on that one piece of concept art. its kinda hard to render a translucent hologram with pencil and paper, i doubt she's gonna look exactly like that in-game

Also....why do I need to continue to clarify the damn symmantics here. The point is if you're speculating how things might go then use speculative language, otherwise it sounds like you're forming an opinion on absolute knowledge that you somehow have that others don't have. Also woodwonk, cortana was in the E3 trailer for halo 4. Whether or not that is what she'll look like in game is still up for debate.

I think we should change the post title to either "Let's argue about the format in which one member posted a response - discussion", or realize that one post confused people, it's silly, and move forward. Seriously, a page of arguing about something trivial is kind of ridiculous.
