Does anyone remember in Halo 2 when you destroyed a ghost it went spastic everywhere then blew-up. Yeah I want that. Also what about putting the fireteam mechanic with marines in Reach's campaign (where they follow you) into firefight. They added friendly ai into Installation 04, yet they only remained in one area. How about the marines follow the player if you place them in your fireteam?
Em.. er.... Give me a minute.... em... Campaign, confirmed? As for the fireteam mechanic, I think it really needs expanding on, if it were to be implemented. Perhaps you could walk up to a marine or group of marines, and give them a few basic order - Retreat - Follow me - Take cover - For ****s sake SHOOT HIM! NOT ME!
Nothing. They said that the game is under too heavy of testing/alterations in order to reveal anything of the sort, but they did announce that some time in April we will be getting more important info on the game. That was stated almost two weeks ago.
I though the bubble shield was the **** back in H3. I didn't think that it slowed down gameplay too badly, especially since people can't spawn with it.
Well it broke gameplay when playing FFA Guardian Oddball with 50's. We all knew how the game worked. Whoever spawned in the forest grabbed the bubble shield, set up camp in the middle, and once the bubble shield popped, they jumped off the map, then we repeated the cycle. It really ruined gameplay.
Yeh, but not as much as AL. It was a good idea equipment, but it wasn't heavily implemented enough. Reach had it too much. I hope that H4 finds that perfact balance. However, when they say they are "evolving" abilities that sounds like adding more to it, which dissapoints me a bit. We need a more core halo, where its just you and your gun. Rock paper scissors battles that arn't pre-chosen, where you can only plan ahead in the short term, not the whole match, with decisions you are left to regret. Too flukey imo.
Arguments like "it's not too bad" and "It's not as bad as Armor Lock" don't really help. I'd rather see the portable cover return. It only gives you cover from one side and people can still throw grenades behind it to flush out anyone hiding behind it. A lot better than the overpowered drop/bubble shied.
gameinformer has halo 4 as its cover. Just a quick thing to notice however. Look at cortana in the bottom left corner. She seems as if she is dying or something. We know that cortana will play a huge role in halo 4,5 and 6, with her most undoubtedly entering rampancy. Suggests to me that gameinformer knows about the story, and will give us some of that to know. Also, the wires? in the ship could be tentacles, indicating a return of the flood Face in the visor?
I thought it was confirmed when he was steering one in the First Look trailer? I doubt she is dying, but it definitely seems like they are going to make her a very weak character again. Like in Halo 3, you just constantly listened to her pleading/laying a guilt trip on you/getting corrupted because it makes MC look like a hero falling from grace and makes his story a lot more personal; it gets the player's panties wet. 343 has been saying again and again that they were going to dive into MC's personality, I wouldn't doubt that Cortana is going to be a lot of what is portraying that. Side note: is the picture above the first time we have actually seen the AR?
Yes, I think so. The extra polygons have been used in a very classy way too. Less Halo:Reach "visual noise" and more decals. Hopefully that will carry over to the multiplayer. The extra polygons on reach's maps just caused a distraction. Glad to see they are keeping it simple and artful. Although I would KILL for the yellow stripe the reach one had. Way too cool.
