Exactly. The event IS on 7 on the 7th, but the point of this is to boost the player count and have some fun. I could easily start a customs lobby, so we can play some classic maps.
I like Halo: Reach, but Halo 3 gets the cake as the best Halo game of the franchise. Reach may have a better Forge than H3, but H3 made Forgers work very hard to have the best maps of any Halo community. Reach has mechanics and items that make Forging a bit easier, so Forging isn't as difficult but makes it easier on Forging newbies and beginners. H3 forging, although I never did it, had items that brightened the map and complemented the map it was on and vice-versa. Custom Games was the best thing of Halo 3. Reach doesn't have that feeling you get that H3's Campaign and Custom Games did. Reach ruined one of the best Infection games of H3, and that was Ghostbusters. There's no Elephant or Sandtrap in Reach so you can't play this "Space Station" map that was extremely fun. I remember playing Border Patrol and Don't Fall, too. My god, I loved these Customs. The maps of Halo 3 were also better, for machinimas, too. The environment is done extremely well, and most of Reach's just mirrors its Campaign and are just... dull. Sure H3 doesn't have Forge World and its amazing Forging mechanics, but let's face it, H3 made machinima a really huge deal back in the day (until CoD came in, an important factor which killed H3 and starting taking over the main channel, too, making it a "dying art"). I started playing Halo on Xbox early in March, and I remember all those memories until Reach came in. I don't play H3 since many play Reach, but since there's a well-known event like this out I'm definitely participating! So, in my opinion (The Greatest Rant Ever): H3 had the best Campaign ever... AND YOU CAN SUCK IT! H3 had the best Custom Games ever... AND YOU CAN SUCK IT! H3 is what made machinima awesome... AND YOU CAN SUCK IT! H3 gave you this feeling you can't even put into words... AND YOU CAN SUCK IT! I'm not saying Halo 3 is so better than Reach, and Reach can go die and stuff, and I'm not trying to instigate another argument—I'm stating my own opinion from my experiences of H3 vs. Reach. Now back on-topic, I will be participating early in this event. My gamertag is down below for those who want me to join them whether it be the Campaign, Custom Games, Matchmaking, or Forge. I definitely want to see the servers go over 50,000! GT: HomicidalWhales
I know, right? ;D Another bullet to The Greatest Rant Ever: Halo 3 is OVER 9000, AND YOU CAN SUCK IT!
Wow. I agree with everything you said here. You also forgot Ice Cream Man and Jenga, they don't work properly anymore.
If Halo 3 didn't have poop netcode and actually had a large enough population to support ranked playlist properly I would still be playing it.
Unfortunately the blackout is in effect. We will have to pool all our maps together. We can play some customs, and when our numbers dwindle we will head into matchmaking. Though I hope that doesn't happen
I wanted to play Halo 3 with my friend who used to game with me all the time (we often played halo), and he said he'd rather play Battlefield or GOW3. I wanted to exude tears of unfathomable sadness.
Machine Enema was pretty awesome without Halo 3. If anything, Halo 3 gave people the false impression that they were amazing film makers. Anything good was lost in the hours of crap. Just sayin'. But a day of Halo 3 sounds good
