...I'll have to look into this zombie anime. It sounds creepy, yet interesting. Familiar was going to have more seasons I think, but the director or the author of the novel passed away due to cancer unfortunatly. [cough]skyskyskyskyskysky[/cough] Don't know if you missed the last link or not, lol. That anime is basically the same thing as SW.
For me, Sky Girls would definitely be suitable for Sky. /troll Anywho, Familiar was supposed to have all 4 of it's seasons dubbed, but recently I found out they canceled dubbing it. I don't know why. For some reason I prefer to watch anime dubbed; I guess you can say that I'm more comfortable hearing the voices in English as opposed to Japanese.
I like watching dub over sub as long as the VA's don't sound like they got pulled from a highschool drama club. Edit: Sky girls looks like it was MADE by Sky
Well, I just finished the first season of Familiar, and I am really fond of the anime. I won't jump into the second season just yet, since I want to use this opportunity to watch other anime. Now its time to watch Guilty Crown.
Sky girls? Must find! As soon as I get more money, I'm going to get some anime on DVD/Blu-Ray. I'm torn between HRSG, HOTD, Angel Beats and Soul Eater. Help me!
Angel Beats, of course. I usually prefer sub over dub, unless it's Baccano. EDIT: Sky Girls was obviously made for Sky.
I watched the OVA opening, it seems to be OK, I'm gonna take some time to find the series tomorrow. The big sub/dub debate. I prefer dub over sub if the dub is available and it's not full of retarded annoying voice actors (á la HOTD: I'm looking at you Takagi. She does make a better voice actor in HRSG though) It's simply easier to follow what's going on screen as you don't have to read the subs. You also have to be careful that if you're watching fansubs that they've done their best to keep it as close to the original as possible as sometimes I hear words I know in jap and they aren't in the subs. I like subbed overall simply because it feels more authentic, but I'll watch it after I've seen the dub if available so I have a good idea of what's going on. Angel Beats it is then. Looks like I'm going to need a new box of tissues.
The series began in October last year and ended just three days ago. One of the producing companies is Funimation so there should be a dubbed version somewhere out there. If not now, eventually. I never watch fandubs because I feel like they are going to change the original script. I agree though, subs are annoying at times. Especially in anime where the characters tend to talk fast.
While there isn't a dub out yet, there most likely will be sometime this year. (Guilty Crown) Staying on the topic of recently ended anime, Another has just had its last episode. Such a good anime, the ending was a little iffy, but the rest of it was just great.
here is a list of my favorite anime Angel Beats! Clannad & After Story FMA brotherhod MM! Soul Eater Heaven's Lost Property Darker Than Black got any recomendations for me?
Nighty, I have read or watch all of those but MM!, so I can make you some recommendations. Also, welcome to 4chub. This is an exceptional anime, so it'll be hard to find a similar one of it's calibur. I would recommend The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. They both are focused on supernatural things, involve a club of distinct members, and have some fighting. Though the plots are completely different they both share multiple aspects and the best part: the two heriones look alike. Unfortunatly, TMHS has less fighting and is more centered around "normal" life. That's all I can recommend for that one, lol. I'm assuming you're looking for the "romantic and sad at the end" kind? The first anime that comes to mind is Kanon. They are both produced by Kyoto Animation so they share many qualities. They are both centered around one boy and multiple, distinct female characters. um, they're both romantic and have great art. That was a bad explanation, but trust me, they are very similiar. These next few aren't really similar, but they are great romance and tearjerker anime. Toradora, Ano Hi Mita, Shuffle!, and Air. I recommend Ao no Exorcist. They both tell a tale of two brothers and the trials they go through. They have two completely different plots, but there they're both packed with action and great art. Once again, not a great explanation, but trust me, they're similiar. lol. I would also recommend D.Gray-Man. Both of the protaganists have special abilities, are 15, and have weird arms. I got nothing. I actually haven't even finished this one. If your looking for the ecchi aspect, I recommend To Love-Ru. If you're looking more towards the plot I would recommend DearS. They are both about a male who encounters a female angel. Also, DearS is ecchi. I would also recommend Sekerei if you're wanting something where a male becomes the "master" of an unfamiliar, busty female. I would link you too each one's wikipedia page, but I'm lazy right now. Do check out some trailers and AMVs on youtube though.
If you want Ecchi/Fanservice: Highschool DxD Highschool of the Dead Rosario + Vampire Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls Strike Witches To Love-Ru KissXsis Damn... I'm so weird @Nightmare: If you want anything else, I would recommend you watch Cowboy Bebop, it's become a classic anime that appeals to most. If you liked Soul Eater and you're partial to a bit of fanservice, Rosario + Vampire is a good series, just be prepared for a very basic storyline and lots of childishness. That's why I like it. @Basket: Lala isn't really an angel as such but she still came from above
lol, I was comparing Sora No Otoshimono and DearS in that statement. Confusing word choice is bad. Actually, I would recommend Sora No Otoshimono to you. I think it's right up your alley I already explained it, but it's about a boy named Tomoki who encounters an angel that knows nothing about "normal" life. The series, for the most part, just follows their everyday lives. There's lots of large breasts, lots of ecchi, and there's actually a good storyline behind it. sora no otoshimono funny clip - YouTube Sora no Otoshimono - Eh? Squishy... - YouTube Just so you notice it this time. SKY!!!!!
Is that supposed to be a link? I shall take your recommendation into consideration. I like the look of Black Rock Shooter at the moment, probs gonna give it a shot before I go to sleep.
BRS is good, both the movie and the series. Since I've long since exhausted my list of anime I want to watch (Another is over, Guilty Crown is over, Mirai Nikki and Persona 4 are coming to an end soon), I suppose I will start watching Sora No Otoshimono and DearS, then follow up with getting caught back up on One Piece.
Nope Sky, I recommended an anime in a much earlier post, but I think you missed it. Taking some extra precautions, so it doesn't happen again. lol Aschur, I'd watch SNO first. The quality of that one is much higher.
ugh but that's an entire season into the anime, Sky... such a pain. Okay how bout this; SNO first, Strike Witches, DearS, then the One Piece marathon from hell (like 4 hundred episodes that I have to catch up on)
