I don't really care either way. Developers and Publishers can already practically remote lock any gamer connected to the internet from playing their game. It's not like going to download only would make us own the games any less than we already do.
It's actually a real thing, but they think it's parasites, not a virus, and the "zombie like" and "arson" parts are complete sensationalist bullshit. They actually just have sporadic uncontrollable seizures, sometimes triggered by specific events like stress and a major change in the weather. EDIT: Phone typos.
Yeahh it all seems too good to be true. I was halfway through reading the article when I posted it. It looks like I'm going to have to wait a while before my zombie overlords finally show up. Annnd now I'm watching the Shinning. Wwooo Spoiler
Going back a bit, but if games were download only, you couldn't get them used or sell them back. and people without a HD would be SOL.
Not to mention that you'd completely alienate those without decent internet, whether it be speed wise or bandwidth limits. It would be a bad move for any platform to go Download only.
I disagree with that. Mobile platforms like the 3DS and PS Vita should have download only. However consoles should give the option of download or disc. For now.
Again, you alienate those without decent internet. You really think a company would give up ALL those sales just to take away the cost of production of discs and cases?
