Splashes Created by HOMY Recommended Gametypes: King of the Hill, Multi-Flag, Slayer, Team Slayer Recommended Players: 4-8 Welp, two-and-a-half in the morning on my birthday, on a friturday mornight none-the-less, I find myself a slave to this abusive wonderfully loving, kind, and caring site. What is a friturday morning, you ask? Its a weird verbal amalgam of friday night and saturday morning. I heard a kid say it once, and I couldn't let it pass! I was, in fact, feeling particularly Gandalfy. Though, I can't honestly say I don't enjoy this. There hasn't been a feature in some time and this map really deserves it. And by really deserves it I mean 'this map fits all the criteria required and surpasses them in a manner than befits really deserving it.' If that doesn't make sense, google recursion for a reference. Now, why so much build up? Isn't it obvious? This map looks like it plays good, it plays like it plays good, and... thats all she wrote. Its like a figure-eight on top of a figure-eight DEVOURED a figure-eight that was currently in the process of beating up a crippled figure-eight, which ALL go eaten in turn by HOMY, then vomited most loudly into a bowl shaped like a figure-eight. Make sense? Didn't think so. Its a multi-leveled tetraquetra; a four-pronged figure-eight looping back over itself. The following is a fictional scenario that may or may not have happened, and does not reflect blah-blah-blah, just read it. Make it to the top-mid? You are gonna die, better drop down and get the evade-train out. Evaded the wrong way? You are probably right in the middle of the enemies spawn-hive, so you just wasted that power-up unless you have a miserably bad team. If you manage to make it to the health-pack before enemy DMR fire rips you like paper, you just might survive... if it weren't for that sniper that just took you out. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! Download Splashes You can view the original map thread by the author here. Want to see a map featured? Let us know here.
Well, you deserve it, HOMY. I remember playing this map awhile back and enjoyed it thoroughly. Well done.
Nice to see unpopular forgers get their maps featured, especially if they are worth playing. I'll have to DL this whenever possible.
I think I saw this a while back, very good map, the tunnels on the side were fun to screw with people (people being my idiot LIVE friends) just by running circles while they mindlessly chase you... actually, I think that was them being retarded. Oh well. Still a sexy map. Oh, and Reflex, we love you too.
I love the object usage. I think this might be one of the first deserved features in a long time, assuming it actually plays well.
Forging wise, everything looks solid, clean and easy on the eyes. The design I'm sure is excellent aswel, however it seems to be lacking the "wow" feature. It would be nice to see something new, something that sets it apart from the rest of the competitive maps as of late. Even at that, that is a difficult task to pull off as the fish tank of Reach ideas is running dry. Nonetheless, nice work - looks solid.
Bazbazbaz~ Yeeaaayyy Homy you did it To everyone on FH. This guy didn't had a goodluck hit with this map. He really does cracy stuff. To bad he is not so good in english The map Splashes has been tested and tested and tested. He wasted so many hours on that great **** to bring it so far. The gameplay of this map is full of pure awesomeness I like to play MLG on Splashes. Even the design is overthinked more then 10 times. Acctually 343 should see this great map to think about matchmaking. Everyone if you would like to see more of him, here is his newest creation Steatics. peace Ad1
Possibly the most aesthetically-pleasing competitive map I have ever seen. Well done and congrats on the feature.
Lazy staff are lazy. Good work, I like this map quite a bit. Makes a nice change from the generic stuff you see these days. EDIT: 17k posts in featured maps!
So I finally got a game on this the other night in our custom lobby... All I can really say is, not my cup of tea. Map plays great for FFA, but 4v4.... Yeah.... :/ In brief, the issue with the map is that it's overly segregated. Room based maps like this just don't offer the best sort of gameplay with Halo's mechanics. Any map where the prevailing tactic is to run as a mob, or camp in any single room, simply do not play that well... Additionally, because of the 4-base esque nature or the map and it's general layout, there really isn't much depth to the map for meta-game to truly evolve. Aesthetics wise, its a gorgeous map. Well, for what a room based Arena can be anyhow. Gratz on the feature.
