"A Bridge 2 Far" is an Invasion map with two opposing bases link by a bridge. Although each team can begin with a base, neither of which are identical. At the start of every game both teams will spawn on one side of the map, while one team is intent of blowing something up the other must stop them and as with any invasion map one is given an obscene advantage, two Plasma Turrets stationed on top of two intravenous towers stands between them and a explosive outcome.

The bridge features two different levels, I know what your thinking 'Narrows' although admitably that was my first intention I was unable to recreate it due to lack of resources, or I'm just not smart enough. The upper level is vaster mainly for vehicle use but before players can use this route they must first remove the One Way Shield Door blocking their path. The lower level is conected by a narrow walkway that extends from both sides, so not only does this leave less room to dodge enemy fire but one wrong step can send the player plummeting to his/her death, so don't look down. In the center of the bridge is a hexagonal platform that sits a large metalic object, my intention was to make it appear as a shield generator, attached to it are two terminals one of each side that the attacking team must successful hack into in order in order to shut down the shield being admitted on the upper level.

Vehicles will then of which spawn at both bases. Vehicles are not just here to give players a tactical advantage they also make traversing the bridge quicker and easier. This map did have a Wraigh but that would of ment I'd have to put Scorpion Tank on the map aswell. Because the wraigh takes less certifiable skill than the scorpion, I decided to give neither team either. Lets leave these heavy hitters where they belong, in a BTB. Atfer successfully passing the second stage of this map, the attacking team can move up to their final objective.

The most obvious one leads to a small defensible position from there you take the next set of stairs to the top of the base. If your not built for stairs the upper level can be accessed by jet pack. From their a player can retrieve the core which is held in a interlinking structure and deliver it the designated area at the opposite end of the bridge close to where they first spawned and scoring a victory.

I am quite happy the way this map has turned out, the hours that went into it, the painful choices made in its production, you know what its like being an editor! Honestly I don't think I could of done a better Job.

Not many people make BTB or invasion maps that are much good, but i really like this. Your buildings are built very nice and look like real buildings insted of pices of wals put togther. The big bridge with the giant windows and the one way shields looks awesome. And thirdly the towers where the turrets are sitting on top of are sweet. So all in all good work, welcome to forgehub, and keep up the good forging. :)

This map looks interesting and it is good to see more invasion maps posted. The only thing I recommend is to nat use window coli as floors because there is a invisible barrier on them that looks ugly when use (example: picture #9). Another thing I would recommend is to maybe replace the shades with plasma turrets because the shades might be too over powering. I have a few questions: did you use fire teams? Are your objectives placed far enough apart? Are there weapons? Overall I think this map looks great but I will wait to DL until you answer the answers I have asked are answered.

Also I would like to say welcome to forgehub.

Answering to your question there are only two weapons on the map, 1 DMR and 1 Needler Rifle in front of where each opposing team first spawns, so you'll be more heavily relied on your spawning options. I agree using a Window Coli does not make the best floor but I was working against a budget. Also me love shade turrets long time!

Yeah you should have more than that. If it's standard Invasion spawns, vehicles are going to wreak havoc all over the map. Also, you might want to move the core capture point maybe to the other end of the bridge. It's just too far to go. Also, even though I liked the buildings, you could improve those if budget allows. First, replace the window coliseum as a floor, because of the invisible barrier, try to fix the green piece where the core is, and replace that wall double on the outside if possible.

I've replaced the shade turrets with with plasma turrets to not just help with my budget but made it less of a challenge for the opposing team. With my new found wealth I've been able to address other concerns. Also I have added additional weapons to the map, these include 1 Focus Rifle, 1 Plasma Launcher and 1 Energy Sword. I hope this improves things for you.

Also instead of traversing the whole bridge I wanted to make it easier for players to get to and from both positions using teleporters but I am unable to get them to spawn on the map when they should if anyone can explain this for me It'd be very appreciated thank you.

What phases are the new weapons in, did you fix the DL link, and set the teleporters as INV_WEAPON or INV_VEHICLE, vehicle if you want a temporary waypoint over them. As for when you want them to spawn, just set the Spawn Sequence to the phase you want them to enter. IE, if you want them to spawn in at Phase 2, set spawn sequence to 2. Hope that helped.

The download link has been fix. Weapons will spawn on Spawn Sequence 3 the same as vehicles, in addition to the weapons already on the map, I have also added 1 Rocket Launcher, 1 Sniper Rifle and 1 Shotgun against 3 columns that supposedly resemble drop pods. Teleporters have also been added and Spawn Sequences set, thanks for the advice.
