    I really want to stop arguing with you, I really do. But this is just downright insulting. Just because you may not want kids, doesn't mean you have to try and say no one should have kids, that's just being selfish. But I can understand why you're like this based on all of your insulting posts in the religion thread. I really hope this doesn't go on anymore, but if it must, please PM me.

    Ok back on topic:

    So, Kony?

    My roommate actually made a good point. Of course i don't know all the details, but she said we should be more worried and focused on the Cartels in Mexico as the pose a bigger threat.

    ...um that's kind of ambiguous isn't it. I mean which cartels? A cartel is just a business that manufactures then distributes a product. In terms of "drug" cartels there are literally hundreds of them. Saying a "cartels in Mexico" is like saying we need to do something about about street gangs. Sure something should be done but its too vague a thing to have a movement on.

    Back on topic?

    You just completely veered onto a totally different issue.

    A very vague one at that.

    Also, "pose a bigger threat" to who? To the US? To the world in general? I mean of course drugs coming from the country right below the USA is more a pressing issue to the United States than child soldiers in Uganda but from a global standpoint...it really isn't.

    @PAC

    Yea should have clarified. I'm talking about all the killing going on I Mexico right now. It's been going on for a while and is getting pretty serious. There's tons of innocent people being murdered and the numbers are growing fast.

    @Shanon

    Haha I new this was coming from one of the 3 of you.

    I mentioned a topic that is similar to the Kony topic and stated why I felt it was more important. Other people may disagree and say why they think Kony is more important.

    That's more on topic than Shuman telling me my daughter was a mistake because she's on helping overpopulate the planet.

    I agree with what Chris said and that's exactly why I started this thread. I know I can't help, but I've helped a tiny bit by spreading awareness.

    ...that didn't really clear anything up. "Killing going on in Mexico right now" is relative. Mexico is a big country and cartels aren't everywhere. I know there are no cartel soldiers killing tourists in Cancun (they're reporting record numbers of tourists). Again "mexican cartel" is a vague description of a large and not easy to deal with problem. You can't send money to help (unless you send your money to the Mexican Federales I suppose) and you can raise as much "awareness" about the issue as you want, drug cartels will just keep doing what they're doing.

    I will assume your roommate was referring to this, Residents turn to social media to fight Mexico cartel violence - CNN.com

    which is a specific Cartel (the Zetas Cartel). But like I said the problem is too complex to just say hey guys lets raise awareness about it. If that specific Cartel gets shut down there will be hundreds more to replace it. That specific cartel just happens to be a lot more aggressive (killing Mexican police and desecrating their bodies in the street) than most but they are not the only Cartel in all of Mexico.

    However, How Obama should stop Kony - CNN.com

    Is a little more specific right now. Mind you I'm not saying one is less important than the other, they are both bad things that people should know about. The cartel thing is not something people can do anything about, the Kony thing is.

    FYI, bringing it up repeatedly doesn't make it go away any faster. We get it shuman can be an ass most of the time while arguing, make a note of it and move past it.

    I agree with skisma agreeing with Chris who agreed with me.
