Oh, the places you get inspiration for games. This game came from a couple of friends and I standing in a circle, chucking a plasma 'nade above, and seeing who died. Anyways, the idea here is to die the least. It's based on the idea of probability, and people's different "methods" of determining an outcome. There are eight rooms to this map, all exactly identical. Each room has a spawn, a teleporter, and a teleporter frame. The teleporters will randomly take you to another room if you don't like your chances in your current location. When you like where you are, jump into the teleporter frame. A man cannon will send you to your fate. But choose quickly! A soft kill barrier encases every room, so you have ten seconds to pick! There's death... (Kill barriers at the ends) ...And there's safety (The teleporters will send you to a random room). As for the gametype, there are three rounds, three lives per round. This is to increase the game length because without it, the game wouldn't even be worth loading up. No one can do damage, but you can taunt your enemies with harmless Magnum shots. I hope you enjoy this game as much as my friends and I do, and feedback is appreciated! ~Solar Sidereal
This looks interesting, so basically you have to see who lives longest? im confused about how this actually plays
That's basically the idea, it's sort of like Russian Roulette, but with jumping into man cannons and hoping for the best. It's kind of hard to make clear, but if you understand Russian Roulette, you should be able to understand this. I'll see if I can make the post more clear though.
I think the best first step in changing this from a cool gimmick to an actual game would be to have all but one teleporter give you a point and prepare you for another round, with the one false node being the metaphorical bullet. Players could then take turns going in, and continue to do so until they were all eliminated. You'd actually be able to measure who lasted the longest. Kind of like that game from Mario Party with the monkeys and the cakes. I like the concept, but in it's current form it appears to be too quick and trivial for my tastes.
I thought about using that idea instead, but couldn't figure out a way to ensure players took turns without needing honor rules. If you had an idea for it, I'd be happy to update it or make a version 2.
If this is too hard to pull off in the end, you can always think about using King of the Hill. Just place a hill covering all of the playable area, and then it will automatically give the last man standing a point. Camping is already impossible because of those soft kill zones, if I read it correctly, so that wouldn't be an issue.
