It seems like this game is going to be full of new features, and changed ones. Which I think is a good thing.

    New Vehicle:
Something interesting about Energy Swords, and Gravity Hammers. Clearly a question dodge:
Dwarf could mean by size or "coolness" (I'm hoping for elephants and pelicans)
    Another interesting question dodge:
Slayer isn't going to be scored 0-50 in 1 point increments:
    Several new guns:

It's also confirmed that covenant will be back, but they will be the least of our worries.
    Very interesting.

True, except I could rewrite that and change the last sentence to ", if there were a map where all you could do was strafe, use only a BR and 4shot, it'd be the most popular in the game within days."

The BR play style I just listed is generally considered the competitive game style and I believe 343 are gonna cater to them at least more then reach.(Judging from the TU and return of BR)

If it doesn't come back I'll get a sex change. So either I'm 100% confident it's coming back or i secretly want to be female.

I'm 95% sure if we encounter organized "covenant" forces, it'll be the heretics that just got dropped from the story.

"I can state bluntly that we have made significant changes to the sandbox. Perhaps the most radical overhauls and additions it’s ever had in a single iteration. Fans should expect to see very new stuff. And not just weapons. As usual a couple of things will get deleted (or changed), but on balance, it will be more new stuff."

    This is why I'm pre-ordering.

It's safe to say that with Forge mode being quite the fundamental staple in the longevity of Halo games to date that it would be fiscally unwise to not include it in Halo 4.

However, if they want it to have much to any effect at all they are going to have to add features not possible by today's Forging standards. Dynamic in-game elements are my hope.

That's literally the only thing I want them to add/change to forge-- this is what made Halo 3 forging fun for me.

Also, Frank somewhat cleared things up about "Perks". He said the media is who gave them that name and that that's not what they are. From what he said I believe that they are going to be a step further from H3's equipment, but a step back from HR's armor abilities. Sure H4 will never be the classic gameplay of H2-3, but I'm fine with the "perks" if they're as subtle as he explains.

I just want to be able to build anything I want without worrying about framerate.

    Why do you say that?

With clever enough coding anything is possible. Frame rate lag stems from the disconnect in the GPU rendering the objects to the CPU processing them. If they find a way to reduce the computational requirements of all the objects and the space they are in (no more water falls eating up precious run time requirements) then I see no reason why they can't improve on forge to the point of completely removing frame-rate lag no matter the number of pieces.

Network lag is a different matter entirely but that isn't the fault of the forge pieces.

The reason why halo forge maps load very quickly (but also lag) is because the objects are placed as references in a text file in the game, and therefore can be uploaded and sent very quickly.

Thats also why we have lag, because the engine has to constantly render the pieces. On the other hand, if the pieces were "baked" into the map at the start of each individual game however, things may work out better.

I know nothing about coding though. I'm sure we will be able to do more in h4 than in reach. And reach was masses above h3. Although I don't like the grey metals! GRR!

It would be hard but not impossible to eliminate all FRL, no matter what (outside of glitches like infinite vehicles, that is, or modded maps). But it would fairly easy to make a forge template that performs at least twice as well as Forge World. I mean, any moderately ambitious map built in Forge World has framerate problems at some point - you can't have any big lines of sight, can't make any especially complex structures, and basically can't use the lights or more than a couple of like a third of the objects. There's a LOT of room for improvement/optimization. Much depends simply on how they cache and load the object textures.
