I thought the reason it wouldn't hit SouthParkStudios is because it was highly uncensored without the consent of Matt and Trey, so they blocked it from hitting the official online channel.
Chronological Super Best Friends: Muhammad is presented, no uproar Denmark incident happens Cartoon Wars: All about how family guy wants to show a random scene of Muhammad, also a lighthearted jab at family guy for its random references, Comedy Central ultimately censors the scene that Parker and Stone wanted shown for clear reasons. From now on Super Best Friends is not a rerun. 200/201: Parker and Stone try to revisit the Muhammad thing, putting him in a costume. Still uproar, has not been rerun since aired.
Upsetting a major religion with various militant groups that we are currently at war with is always a bad idea. Takes "doing it for the lulz" to a whole new level.
But thats exactly why Parker and Stone do what they do. Most every episode is blatantly mocking a part of society that is beyond idiotic, like reacting over drawn images.
