Come on, man, give me a break. We're having a serious conversation here and you're brushing aside all of that with a non-argument that was already covered pages and pages ago, when PacMonster brought it up with about 300% less attitude.

100 pages of discussion with only 2 trailers released? This is serious ****. You know, I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but... Those ''perks'' could be interesting.

Which is why I think that it would be a better choice to have the "perks" do things to tailor to your experience (HUD upgrades) rather than be directly gameplay related (faster fire rate, more shields, etc.). This brings up a though that seeing power weapon locations could be a "perk", which would void my theory entirely.

Also, did they say the perks were leveled? THey could be chosen at the start, like armour abilities; this brings back the idea that seeing power weapon locations could indeed be a perk, only one chosen at the start of the game - a watered down armour ability - if you would.

    *facepalm*

Get used to it (he does it often) <- Had to be said.

I don't mind "perks", personally, it was sweet in BF3 and COD, but I'm guessing it won't be like their system at all. It'll probably be sprinting n' stuff, just not level based? Idk, too hard to tell right now.

Thanks for demonstrating beyond any doubt that you don't actually have a valid point or basis for objection here, it really saved me a lot of work.

OmG ARGUING!! Seriously, I'm pretty sure this whole thread could have been scripted as a joke a year ago.

So to lighten the mood a little:
Do chief's fingers look a little crazy to anyone else?!

Idk, his fingers are pretty long and spidery.

That said, the movement etc. in the brief snatches of footage seemed very jerky, so even aside from some 'rough around the edges' visuals I think we've probably got a good way to go before we see final, polished visuals. Even then, I actually really like the art style. I know a lot of people dislike the new spartan armour, and I think the helmets could use some work, but overall I'm impressed with what they've done. I love the squared-off look of the BR, it's taking the 'chunky' aesthetic of Reach a bit further, and I actually thought that Reach was the best looking game since CE in terms of art style.

^ Totally agreed, there's some very cool art design and graphic stuff in this preview, and I assume it's nowhere near final. I was pretty underwhelmed with Anniversary's graphics but Halo 4 has potential.

That's what I meant. The context was around 343i only doing Halo CEA.

And again, calm yo **** until you actually try the game out before knocking what smart developers (some of them worked on the first two Halo games) come up with.

A 343 employee refuted that assumption on NeoGAF. They said the media made up the perks thing.

Well no, that neoGAF comment just said Frankie didn't explain it very well. He didn't actually refute anything.

This is the NeoGAF quote: "We didn't mention them. That's why I put it in quotes. That term was coined by someone else to interpret stuff they saw in the UI. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things and to be expected during announce fervor. And yes, it's partly our fault since we re rolling out more information about this stuff at a later time."

Interpret that how you will, but I think the quotes in the many articles such as this one, vague as they are, lean toward the interpretation that Halo 4 will have something like perks in some way. There were multiple articles yesterday mentioning this perks thing, and the response from Frank O'Connor was never, "No, you guys are inventing some ****" or even, "We aren't ready to talk about new features." Instead, it's consistently - across multiple articles and in assorted different quotes - him saying that they aren't chasing Modern Warfare or Battlefield's tails. Which is usually developer-speak for "We're doing something similar but also different."

Not to change the subject, but I've heard from two people that H4 might be released on pc as well. Anyone else heard that rumor? Or know if there is any truth behind that rumor?
This only concerns me because it could further split an already divided community.

I don't know, I feel like PC gamers are pretty much their own breed, and have been for a long time. Not too many people who would have bought Halo 4 for the 360 would end up not doing so because there's a PC version. If they're doing it at all, I'm sure it's intended to bring in more sales from a different base, not to siphon off too many people from the XBox community.

Assuming the game is good, there's also some people who will end up owning both. I know I bought Halo PC when it came out (though quite some time after CE), and a lot of other people did too. I'm not much of a PC gamer but I wanted it just so I could play with modding.

Both Halo CE and Halo 2 came out for PC (after the fact but still) so I don't think it would be a big deal at all if Halo 4 released for PC at the same time as the xbox version.

I know a few people that wouldn't buy the xbox version. Maybe it's not a big deal like you say but we shall see.
