It's doubtful any of you remember me from way back when (I was one of the first moderator folk, organized the first Map of the Year contest and other unexciting stuffs), but I had to pop back in to show off a little something that happened today. I may or may not be pursuing my dream job working at a little company called Bungie, so my wife and I were visiting Bellevue, Washington today (from Tennessee!) to check some stuff out. Bungie says no one can get past him, but for some reason (maybe because I knew his name before he said it and asked to just shake his hand) Jerome let me into Bungie's office in downtown Bellevue. Proof of pudding: I basically fainted. He also let me wander around the trophy room and check out all their accolades, including the Fist of Pentathlon and the diorama scale of the Halo 3 Believe ad. Oh, and the life-size WETA weapons, like the Gravity Hammer! I meet with a former Bungie tester Monday night to talk about job application...pretty excited. =D
...the things I would do to get in that building and look at stuff. That's really neat man sounds like you had a great time.
LAAAAAAAANCE. Awesome. Is the tester still working at bungie or is he doing some sort of consultation thing to help you get ready for the interview?
Yeah I remember you in the steely ranks of Retired Staff, don't think I was around when you were a mod though. That's awesome, life size grab hammer sounds sick, best of luck with the interview.
LANCE! That is awesome. Hook us all up with jobs once you get in. Pick me for environmental modelling =P
Sarge, she no longer works there, but we've been communicating via email for a while and she wanted to give me a more in-depth idea of how to best tailor my resume/experience to be hire-able. =D And Titmar...free jobs for all! Give away ALL the jobs!
Don't know you, but congrats on getting into the offices. Hope your interview goes well. Also, mad props for the epic chops you're sporting, dude.
NO WAY, LANCE?! glad you're still well. very ****ing well... in bungie's hq... seeing all that really cool stuff..... and getting in talks about getting a job there............ also, digging the sideburns, inspired by mine i'd hope
You KNOW it, Chuck. I'm doing quite well, having touched Jerome's hand (and getting to see just over about 20+ Bungie employees walk in from their lunch break). =D Apparently Jerome's only weakness is mutton chops.
Also make sure to flatter Jerome. He's super personable if you're goofy/foaming at the mouth and go on and on about how glorious Bungie is. I told him I just wanted to shake his hand and that I knew we couldn't go in, and he was all, "Aw, heck, come on in, man! Take some pictures with the Chief! And under the Bungie sign!" I've got like 20 pictures of all the trophies and Chief and the diorama from Halo 3....I literally couldn't breathe for what seemed like hours. =D
