I'm 16 and I still enjoy Pokemon. Not so much the series, but the movies. I could watch 'em over and over again.
I'm 19 as well and there is nothing wrong with going back and reliving childhood memories with Pokemon. I'm still a fan of the Pokemon games and play them to this day when I'm bored or on a trip to a convention. In other news, I'm currently watching Ghost in the Shell S.A.C for the first time and so far I enjoy it though other times the episodes goes a little fast and I'm just left with a "What the ****" look on my face as I try figure out what they just said.
I heard Eden of the East and Ghost in the Shell were made by the same people. I don't know if that's true or not...
Gits:SAC is awesome. Totally worth a watch but keep in mind even the episode that have little or nothing to do with the over all story still have a few details in them that you will need to actually understand everything that happens at the end. So whatever you do don't do the abridged version that they put out a little after the series was released on DVD. I only ever really watch the pokemon movies as I get really bored with the same repetetive stuff in the normal show.
Well I already watched everything for Eden of the East and I really liked that show and so far I'm on episode 23 of Ghost in the Shell and besides me going, "WTF" sometime, I'm really liking the Anime.
The thread has a shiny new banner guys! Go check it out in the OP! Thanks to Aschur for taking the time to listen to us and put together an amazing banner!
Dammit Angel Beats! Why you keep making me cry? The story is just too good and too touching. It's one of those anime that really makes you think about life and what you've got. Time to try Cowboy Bebop again.
I put this in a spoiler because some people will hate me for it. Spoiler I have never seen Cowboy Bebop.
the only reason i watch any anime is to try and match the level of storytelling cowboy bebop is at. it's like, trying to match a first high.
Chuck, try matching Deathnote, that was my first anime. I have never beaten its awesomeness. Deathnote was the first anime I consciously watched, I know I saw DBZ before it, but I was too young to have any knowledge that it was anime or anything. That and I only remember it from rewatching it a few years ago. Deathnote however has stuck into my heart so much just from the first watching. So much so, that I make it a thing to rewatch it once a year on the anniversary of my first watching it. I can honestly say that if you haven't seen Deathnote that you have not seen the best anime has to offer. (In my opinion)
you're not the first person to tell me that haha, its been in my netflix queue waiting to be watched.
I'm pretty sure the one on Netflix is in Japanese still, which ruins any kind of animation or movie for me, lol. Anywho, Somebody sell me on Cowboy Bebop, I've never seen it and I don't know if I want to devote hours to watching the whole series.
I can't sell anyone on Cowboy bebop, just didn't like it very much though oddly enough I liked Samurai Champloo, and saw it after having seen Bebop. I suppose I just thought the style lent itself better to Champloo. But back to Deathnote, watch it dubbed, I can't vouch for how good it is subbed but the dub is good. Some voices are a tad annoying but that's life, some people simply have annoying voices. Don't go into it expecting it to be all explosions and action fights and crap. There is none of that. A grand majority of it is story and character development.
samurai champloo is a fun show. enough so that i bought it on blu-ray, but for me it was nowhere close to as good as Cowboy Bebop. Cowboy Bebop is in my top 3 shows ever. animated or not. THAT SHOULD SELL YOU RST.
