Welcome to Cyrodiil City everyone! (also called the Imperial City) I decided to combine my love for two of the best games ever... Halo and Oblivion. Ok maybe Skyrim has Oblivion beat now, but this game is a total classic nonetheless. I took on this project mainly out of an aesthetic point of view, but it's also playable for slayer and capture the flag gametypes if you're daring enough. I just want to let everyone understand that I tried to make my map as accurate and close to the actual Oblivion game as possible. Obviously I was bamfoozled by the money cap and item cap... but if I had more money and more items I totally would've made that city exactly as it had been. I like keeping true to the originals... I digress. The real reason you're here is to check out some sweet pictures so here we go: The view from afar. A glorious city indeed fit for an emperor. Looking at Imperial Palace up from the ground Red start Blue start Looking down at the 6 districts Market District Arena District Arboretum Elven Gardens District Temple District Talos Plaza District When the emperor gets angry at his subjects he pulls out his sniper rifle. Spartan taking care of business in the Arboretum The imperial palace in the center of the city The elder council chambers Final look at the city I hope you enjoy the aesthetics of the map. I had a crazy fun time building this beast of a city. Forge on brothas!
Lordy, this is beautiful. Soo many hours in this city. So many hooke... I mean... This seems like it's be pretty fun for CTF. would this be eligible for the Wonders contest? I mean, it isn't necessarily a physical wonder, but aren't they accepting a few other requests? Anyway, great job. Keep it up! (the good work, not.. well, you know)
If you were low on money you should replace most of the buildings with blocks and it would cut down on the cost to build houses.
Holy cow. This looks absolutely amazing. The things that you do with the same budget I have. Wow. Quick question though: How is the screen-lag? This looks like it would be terrible if more than 2 people were on a single console.
NO. 1990 WILL ALWAYS BE 10 YEARS AGO. Sorry, wrong site. Too lazy to delete, but framerate shouldn't be bad unless you can see almost all of the map. The game only renders what is visible and what you're in contact with, so unless you could see all of the map at one time, like from the top which I imagine is killzoned, framerate shouldn't be that bad.
I think this map looks awesome and I like that you tried to build something that would be a challenge. All the areas have recognizable parts from Oblivion and the main tower really brings it all together, nice job.
I absolutely love what you have done, I'm really into the architecture design of maps and for you to take one of your favorite games and add style to halo forge, is amazing. Props to you and this map. I've also viewed a multitude of your other maps and you are incredible. Also, this map reminded me of the octagon map with the multiple layers that work it's way towards the middle, but instead on you map, you have the layers around the circle with multiple aesthetics. again props!!
Yeah there isn't really any screen-lag during actual matches. Though when you look at the entire map from a distance in forgehub it does make all the objects flash... which honestly makes the city look even more legit
Wow this is epic! Some amazing forging and work has gone into this. Sadly I haven't played on Oblivion yet , but it is on my shopping list ha, unless some huge update comes to Skyrim soon. I will be recomending this to friends... great job
Thanks man. I'm a fan of your own skyrim forges as well. My next map should be based on some city in Skyrim. I'm still working on some reasonable ideas that are feasible...
OMG! Oblivion was the best game ever! this map is amazing. i love how you made miniature version of almost all of the districts! i love what you id with the temple, and arena districts! The White Gold tower is absolutely perfect! and inside of it you even made it look like the elder council chamber! i usually don't download aesthetics maps, but this is beautiful!
This map is amazing. I was wondering though, could this be turned into a linear infection? Start of in one district, and another opens up, then another, etc. Eventually finishing in the top of the tower with maybe a zombie tank up there? Kind of like a living dead kind of thing?
I suppose you could turn it into an infection map. That would be pretty sweet. That's one thing I love about the way this city was designed in the Oblivion game; each district is separated enough for different battles, but still close enough for different types of game play. By all means, play some infection on it and see what you come up with. I'm more used to forging slayer and objective gametypes, though honestly an invasion style would probably work on this map too.
