This thread. David Ellis and Frank O'Conner post in it regularly. Have fun reading through the 200 pages.
Also, they explained in the book Glasslands that the suit of Spartans can be adjusted and improved in cryotubes by nanomachines. So it's canonically correct but still pretty lame.
That was ironic, because you realize that saying "its canonically correct" is entirely equivalent to saying "its canon." ...I hope! While I agree with your post that its kinda lame, I could care less. As long as the game is decent and the story is engaging, I find it very, very easy to look over small discontinuities and justify it somehow in my own mind.
I feel like Master Chief got more and more memorable with each game he was in. Halo 3 was like... perfect to me. I really feel like the design took a step backwards in Halo 4, but to be honest, it's a small part of the game, and as long as it plays well, I couldn't care less.
Pic related. Pretty much sums up my feelings towards the helmet. I do like the more aggressive body-armor design, though.
Source 1 Source 2 Gotta read the weekly update on the 343 website. Not as good or lengthy as bungies though
you may comment on the new helmet looking like a milkdud, but any step away from a retarded ****ing motocross helmet is a step in the right direction. theyve definitely improved every game, and it looks to be true here too, but the chief remains one of my least favorite video game character designs. Here's to hoping H4 maintains the fun of the gameplay that's kept me coming back
Tbh, the helmet isn't as good as it was in halo 3, or better yet the halo 2 trailers, but its more a colour thing to me. They also announced during a sparkcast (??) podcast that theres a new gamemode, and its apparently absolutely amazingly awesome.
When did his helmet ever NOT look like a flat-cap with yellow ski-goggles? Plus there's a very good chance there will be a reveal in less than 2 weeks at the spring showcase.
I'm seriously hoping for just a little gameplay. I want to know what it might look like, or what the HUD will look like, and the graphic changes are going to be, the enemy designs, if there are going to be things similar to AA's in there, e.t.c. I am excite.
According to the Finnish magazine there will be Halo 4 gameplay there, and it might be playable (in presentation form no doubt). But then again, maybe not.
Tbh I think CEA and H4 should each have their own individual threads, because with one thread regarding both it's just too confusing, and it will continue to become more confusing as more information about H4 is released.
Tyvm BT. Anyway, I have a couple things to say about Halo 4 - particularly about Firefight. Firefight in ODST was awesome. It was a survival mode, with each round more difficult than the last due to the changing of skull patterns every round. You had to work together with your team to survive, by conserving your lives, ammo, vehicles, etc. Teamwork was critical, and that's what made it so fun to play. Firefight in Reach, however, was utter garbage. Sure, you were now able to create custom gametypes, but the improvements stop there. The newly introduced faults, however, are extensive. Teamwork was no longer important, you had either unlimited or no extra ammo, and it was no longer a survival mode - one set is all you could play, unless you wanted to play the same one over and over again. It was terrible and insulted ODST's Firefight in every way. The old Firefight needs to be brought back. It needs to be a team-based, skill-based survival mode again. There can still be custom settings, but they should cater for at least the first ten sets of Firefight, rather than just one. Also, Matchmaking needs to have Firefight playlists for both serious Firefighters and casual players, not just a shitty "arcade" mode that's basically just a shooting gallery. Thank you for reading, please tell me your thoughts.
I think the biggest problem with reach firefight is the maps. I mean, ONI Alpha Site. Absolutely boss.
December 31... *wipes dribble from corner of mouth I seriously CANNOT wait for this. I've got it pre-ordered
