I like the text, but maybe you're gonna need to balance out the guy/girl ratio a little, Mizore looks pretty lonely in there. Maybe move her off to the side a bit as well, she's a little to small in the middle. I also think that the text would look better on top of all the characters, maybe make a version like that and we'll compare and stuff. Good work so far, I'm proud of you
Probably going to replace spike with Haruhi then, We'll see. I just don't want it to feel too clustered and crowded. Also, going to post two versions next update, one fairly normal and one with a style I feel like trying out with each character being tinted a different color.
Sorry bout giving Spike the boot. I never was able to find a good quality render of him anyways, the one I had didn't really match up with the newer look of all the other characters. Thus with his removal I made Haruhi take the front, I hope her inclusion will redeem my blasphemy of not being a Cowboy Bebop fanboy. Of all the versions to date, I would say I like the weaving text with the experimental coloring the best. I still am dissatisfied with the background though. I remembered to add "& Manga" into the banner for each style. I would also appreciate opinions of which style you guys would prefer me to continue working on. Yeah see, that sucks. This banner has four Spikes, maybe five, I forget. The point is that it has more Spikes in it than your banner, which makes it four or five times better than the first banner you made, and infinitely better than the second one, because four (or five) divided by zero is infinity.
Lets try to keep this from becoming a pissing contest. It appears Spike's presence in the banner, or the lack thereof, is causing us to veer off topic.
wait, if the topic is the banner how are we off topic? everybody else says which characters they'd like to see, and we all want spike. I think the majority agrees, Spike belongs in the banner.
Fine, I'll put the banner on hold until someone can find good quality Spike render if you desire his presence so much. That is, if you can find one that I didn't see already then post it or pm me. I don't want to sound like a ****, but everything I found was not of a similar quality as the rest of the renders and I don't really want to have one character look like a complete outcast due to a contrast in quality. EDIT: Just for fact checking, I looked back in the pages and only two people even mentioned Spike in reference to the banner prior to my saying I was taking him out. Just Saiyan, 2 isn't everybody. Spoiler What was said above still stands though, if you want him in it you need to find a good quality render of him because I spent a whole afternoon searching just for what I have. In fact, if you can find one for Princess Mononoke as well I would put her in. If it weren't so hard to do it myself I would have picked some poses from the shows myself and done it already. All you have to do is search for images with "(insert character name) renders" the problem is sorting through the assortment of crap. /ranty wall-o-text EDIT 2: Oh good god, okay... pardon that bit above, I went out of my way and ended up finding a decent Spike render on some french site, my methods will remain a mystery. Also, I'm going to try and watch a subbed movie I found in my searching for said Spike render. It's called "Children Who Chase Lost Voices From Deep Below" or it's Japanese name "Hoshi o Ou Kodomo". I have no idea what it's about, but it looks like a Miyazaki film in its art style, therefore I must watch it.
I'm liking the new banner, apart from the following: • Don't use experimental colouring, it looks a bit odd for some of the characters. • I couldn't tell what the squiggle representing the word "manga" was until I thought about it, it needs more definition. I'm still torn over whether I prefer the weaving or the overlay text styles.
If less characters looked bad with the experimental coloring than looked good, you should tell me which ones they were. I may be able to make them look better by using a different color. If more looked bad in your opinion, then I will abandon that experiment. Would it be more legible if I were to make the red "& Manga" text thicker? Or is it more so a problem with the font? This is a somewhat difficult one for me to field by myself, seeing as I know what it's supposed to say and also know the nuances of the lettering in the fonts I use. Also, watched that movie, "Children Who Chase Lost Voices From Deep Below". I went into watching it thinking it would be similar to a Miyazaki film or a Studio Ghibli one, after having seen it I can say my predictions were correct. Not only was the art style quite similar, the storyline just seemed like something they would make. I wholly recommend this for anyone who liked Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away or Castle in the Sky.
I'm with Sarge, Shuman and Chuck. While only 2 people have mentioned putting spike in the banner, if you look through the thread, you'll be quick to notice that almost everyone has listed Cowboy Bebop as one of their favourite animes. Apart from Sky and Zigy, because they prefer their anime characters more naked.
Well, I've liked what I've seen so far of Cowboy Bebop and Angel Beats and neither of those have any ecchi in them. I also watched the first two episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh GX because I was interested. Don't watch it. Its crap.
The original Yu-Gi-Oh was the only decent series. And man it was ****ing awesome. Everything after it was ridiculous.
Is Yu-Gi-Oh GX the one with the 3 different academies? I enjoyed that one, but then again I was 7 years old when I last saw it.
Only Rosario + Vampire is ecchi. Code Geass and Eden of the East are both amazing and neither of them have more panty shots than you can count. Edit: Also, I prefer my characters more naked if their female.
I wish it wasn't. Zombies and boobs flinging all over the place don't go together, otherwise I would see it.
