This Forunner facility appears to be the equivilent of a human medic bay.

This here is Blood Drive from Gears of War 3, with some help from JDHarbs19. We tried to make the map as accurate as possible while giving the map the distinct look of a Forunner facility. I had actually did a preview a while back to show what I started, and I got some great advice from some people, JDHarbs19 joined shortly after that. After a bit a testing, I believe the map is ready to be released. Onto pics.

It looks nice and accurate for the most part, I hate when remakes are done that were pretty much forced to use the railing pieces with the small lights. I wish they had a railing piece that didnt have the lights or a better replacement than windows and cover pieces. I'm still working on finishing my remake up so props to being able to finish yours with plenty of time to spare :) I wish you luck in the contest. By the way are you taking influence from Gears of war 3's Blood drive or a older version?

I know you mention its the gears 3 version, but I'm just curious why you decided not to add the door in the death pit or the blocked exits in the hallways :). I've been trying to decide if its best to go for pure aesthetic and game area rebuild or just focus on the game area itself.

Figured I would go into a little more detail on the map to help give this map an edge in the Foreign Treasures II contest.

Gears of War remakes have never really played like their originals until now, b/c this map actually features a cover system that we put together and allows the map to be playable without any jump height and still allow you to leap over cover like you would in the original map.

The way we were able to pull it off was actually very simple. We took a shield door and angled it low enough to the ground that it would only span the very center of cover. This allows players to still be able to crouch behind the cover for protection, but also make it easy to leap the cover without much effort in midst of a match.

I've played my fair share of Gears of War remakes in Forge and I gotta say, this is the first map that actually feels like Gears of War to me. Everything from the gritty Gears art style to the accurate map structure to the breakthrough cover system makes this THE Gears of War remake that all Gears fans must download. Props to the creator for making the first true Gears experience in Halo. :)

That actually sounds interesting. My first thought when looking at the map was that it looked plain and uninteresting, if cleanly put together. But if it presents a new gameplay experience then its worth a try.

Downloaded and deleted. It looked great, but you have killzones on railed off of portions of rampways that are not obviously out of bounds. Its to easy to jump into and randomly die. I couldn't get passed that.

Hard to edit on mobile ...

I'm sure its fine with your custom gametype, referring to the kill zones, but would it have played much different if it was a shallow soft kill parallel to the floor? I don't like the idea of such an involved map only being playable with a custom gametype.

I was originally going to remake Blood Drive from Gears 2, but after I got done with the basics of the map, I decided to go with the version from Gears 3, as it had some improvements that I liked. I didn't do the doors or the exits because I didn't have the budget, or peices, and I wanted to make the map uniform, as I was going for a Forunner symmetrical look.

I'm going to edit the map. I did that killzone thing because of how bad I think the soft killzones are, it would've made it where people could've camped for at most 8 seconds, but that has to change I suppose.

I can imagine that would be terrible with your custom gametype.

    Good luck with the edit.

Tell me what you think after you get a game or two. I myself think this map would mesh well with MLG and Anniversary gametypes, so if anybody is playing those, tell me how the games were so I can get a grasp at how well they work.
